This little gem of a restaurant is tucked away in a rather nondescript residential neighborhood of Rhodes Town. It's charming, in a rustic mom and pop way, and pleasant enough that you may linger after dinner - but not too long. That is, unless you really love "O Sole Mio" and the rest of the Neapolitan standards...
However, ambiance is not the reason to come here. Pizza is, above all else. The best way to describe it is "lace", served hot from the wood-burning oven. Very, very thin and puffy crust, drizzled with excellent tomato sauce, topped with just the right amount of REAL mozzarella and a hint of fresh basil. Yes, that's the proper Margherita and, truth be told, you don't need to bother with any other topping. It would be sacrilege, really.
We also had plain focaccia (perfect), a rocket salad with Gorgonzola and pears (very nice), plus rigatoni with chicken and mushrooms in a pink cream sauce (excellent).
Prices are very modest, too. Total bill for three (focaccia, salad, pasta, two pizzas, one beer and bottled water) came to 36€.
Bottom line: GO. Definitely GO.
