“Worthwhile trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

We had a coach from our hotel through the countryside to Aghios Nickolas to catch the boat. Lovely boat trip to beautiful beach outside Elounda - stunning ! No tourist attractions just nature and the clearest sea. Rustic lunch on board boat of BBQ pork and salad and then off to Spinalonga. Interesting history however it is very hot and our guide, who was extremely well informed, went on a bit too long with the tour, so my daughter and I wandered off on our own - you can't get lost, it is an island ! Recommended but take plenty of water !

“Much more history than 20th century leper colony”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

Took boat trip from Agios Nikolaos at 12:30 returning at 16:30 with a stop for a swim on the way. Boat well equipped reasonable food and drink prices. Included English speaking guide on Spinalonga all for 15 euros from the kiosk in the port. Another fortress dating from 17th century built on old venetian ruins. Entrance is free for students and 1 euro for others

“good day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

we got the coach from Gouves down to the port boarded the boat for spinalonga island which was a leper colony which only closed in 1956 some ruins of building still standing but very interesting spent about 3/4 to 1 hour then back on the boat which anchored up in a lovely cove where they BBQ the meat on the rocks while you can swim either of the beach or the boat then back to the port so you can look round the shops for an hour and back to hotel very worthwhile trip.

“Great Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

The Boat Trips to Spinalonga are highly recommended as you not only get to cruise across the gorgeously blue Elounda bay, but you are given your own freedom to roam the island of Spinalonga and explore for yourself before shortly returning to the boat. The boat then takes you to Kolkytha or a similar beach where you can swim in the lovely water whilst a BBQ is prepared. Excellent way to spend 1/2 a day. The Atlanto was fantastic and the Captain was lovely!!
