There are many good restaurants in Elounda, but we were drawn back to Katafygio 3 times in our weeks holiday. It offers the widest selection of Greek dishes in the town and all the ones we four sampled were delicious and with such generous portions. My favourite was Giovetsi..lots of melt in the mouth beef cooked with tomatoes cinnamon and orzo pasta (I have just bought some orzo in Tesco to try and recreate it!)
The seating is waterside , the waiters are friendly and welcoming and some nights there is live Greek music. As with other restaurants, there was always a free dessert and shot at the end.
A particularly nice touch was on leaving for the last time, the two ladies were given a kiss goodbye and a lovely decorated pebble by the owner. Highly recommend that you walk along the waterside towards the saltpans and give it a try.

We found this wonderful restaurant on our second night in Elounda and went every night.
Idyllic surroundings, lovely friendly staff and superb food.
Do not miss the Greek night on Thursday. Singing, dancing plate smashing. Enormous fun
Highly recommended.

Second or third night in Elounda and we came across this little gem of a restaurant. Nichos the manager immediately made us feel as though we had known him for ages and so welcoming. The staff - excellent service and the food was excellent! Complimentary breads, dips, wine, dessert accompanied the lovely food. We came here throughout our 2 weeks holiday and each time was as good as the last. The view and setting was beautiful and on the final night Nichos gave us a bottle of his own wine - lovely! We recommend this highly to anyone visiting Elounda - excellent value for money and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Hope we return again soon!

This restaurant is in the quieter are of Elounda out towards the causeway leading over to Kolokitha island. We ate here on our 2nd night in Elounda and I ordered Pastitsio which similair to lasagne but made with pasta tubes instead of sheets of pasta and my husband ordered chicken a la creme and both dishes were lovely. When we finished our meal we were served a small jelly and raki mixed with honey and cinamon on the house. As we were leaving Nikos the owner told us that there would be a Bazooki night at the restaurant the following night if we would like to join them. We decided we would go along and have our evening meal there and it had to be the best night of our holiday with local singers and musicians entertaining us including Spiros the Bazooki player with his unique playing and dancing around fire.I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and will eat there next time we visit Elounda.

Good food here which didn't break the bank. Very attentive service. Ordered kleftico x2 and veal in tomato sauce. We had a seat close to the water and later moved to softer seats to enjoy the good live music which started off Greek style and then moved through a good selection of popular songs. A most enjoyable evening and would recommend for both food and atmosphere.
