Very good hotel overall. Near restaurants which are not very touristic so with very good food. Near the beach (very close). Not very central, need 15 minutes walking for the old town but that was a plus in this case. The condition of the hotel: comfortable bed, refurbished toilet/bath, clean, good enough for our stay which we did not want to stay in the hotel. The owners are very hospitable and loved the garden terrace for breakfast. Breakfast was ok: consists of Cretan bread, butter, cheese and ham, olives, cherry tomatoes, boiled eggs, homemade jam, strained yogurt, honey, packed jam, sweet grape, lemonade, corn flakes. We enjoyed our stay overall.

The Ideon is a small family run hotel, that reflects the best things about Charnia. It isn't big, it's not lavish but it is a very welcoming, well run, place from which to enjoy Chania.

Antonis and Teresa who own and run it are the best hosts you could hope to meet (and you will meet them). Rooms are no more nor less than what you need for your stay and are always clean and have had very recently new bathrooms fitted. The roof terrace is my favourite area where you can take a straight forward breakfast in the morning and raki ( often with the hosts) by night. The location is ten minutes from the charming old town and harbour and two minutes from the Nea Hora beach. Plenty of Greek tavernas nearby offer evening and lunchtime meals.

For personal reasons the Ideon has created many great memories for me and my family this year. The high number of returning visitors tell you all you need to know about the hotel's appeal. We will certainly be back.

A very nice and quiet family hotel, conveniently close to the bus station (15 mn walk) and the beach at Neochora (maybe 200m). The whole staff was welcoming and just lovely. Perfectly clean and comfortable room. The roof garden is very nice, where you can enjoy the light breeze in the evening. Ok, if you want a negative point, the balcony is really small (you can't put a chair). But part from that, it's perfect.

Room Tip: Elevator available.

We just spent 6 days at this hotel and felt that overall it was good value for money !

We were lucky and had quite a big room with a double bed and a veranda (although we didn't use it)
We don't have anything to complain about since it serves it's purpose as we spent most of the day outside. It was clean, good bathroom, working airco, sheets and towels changed every other day.

We really loved that the old town was just 10 mins walk away and since the hotel was not in the middle of the town, parking was free!
We really loved the old grandpa, Giorgos who would greet us every time. Owners were friendly.

The Hotel is in a great position for all the Taverners in the old town, and only a 10 min walk to the beech. The staff are very friendly and will do all they can to make sure you have a great time. The food in hotel is very good, the bar snacks are some of the best iv'e had. Rooms cleaned every day good shower, room 123 in the Venetian building with pool view is lovely ....( only moan double room room with two small single beds pushed together) but apart from that very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: room 123 pool view 2nd floor quiet
