This place was recommended by the owners of our hotel and it is indeed the must when in Crete. Crowded but still cozy, small tables positioned along one of the most suggestive small streets of Chania. Good was really good, and moussaka in particularl. Portions are generous and prices reasonable.

We tried to have dinner at first, but the place was crowded. So a couple of days after we were more lucky and we had our lunch there. "Different" dishes, all very well prepared and delicious. Not a very typical cretan restaurant - but one of the top to visit in your stay in Chania. The decoration was also very beautiful. I think we were also informed that the restaurant took the first prize for the quality of the goods it uses. We definitely enjoyed and we further recommend it.

Starters we liked Zucchini croquettes and stuffed Zucchini flowers
The best Mousaka of our holidays. It is located in a quiet alley. Did not dislike anything about the place.

We found this one on our last night in Chania which, as it turned out, was a shame as we would have eaten here again and again. Set in an alleyway against a beautiful old stone wall and softly lit it's a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal. It was deservedly busy but the staff were brisk and attentive and soon found us a table. The menu was a great combination of Greek and European food with exciting variations that firmly lift it above the standard Cretan fare. Portions were huge and the flavours intense so the belt had to be loosened a few notches as I couldn't bear to leave anything. The house wine was extremely good and also cheap and again the complimentary Raki finished off a darn good evening. Highly recommended.
