To say they are welcoming is an understatement. We were immediately greeted with smiles by the staff and Maria, who I assume is the owner, came to chat with us for a bit. Even if the food had been bad, which it wasn't, their warmth and effort to get to know the people that visit their restaurant made it incredibly charming.
I guess Maria and her staff put as much effort and love into their dishes as they do their people because everything we got was fantastic!
We got the meat board, there was only one thing that we didn't care for which seemed to be a prosciutto with some sort of vinegar base. We also got stuffed vine leaves and a beef/potatoes/peppers dish. The stuff vine leaves are so good, and the beef dish was probably our favorite thing there. I need to learn how to make it because I am already craving it again! They finish dinner off with some greek yogurt and delicious orange jam!
Maria, thank you for making us feel so welcomed! Hopefully we will be back one day!

It was a little bit of a walk from the tourist center, but well worth it. The restaurant is also a meat shop and serves some very tasty dishes. The owner and her staff provide great service and I really enjoyed the setting just outside the shop.

We went here twice during our five day stay in Athens because it was just that great. The place itself is really romantic and cosy. Both the inside garden and the actual restaurant have a great ambiance. The servers are friendly, helpful and quick and the food is just amazing. Especially wonderful were the meat pies and their sausages. So flavorful and just a great way to make a simple dish taste extraordinary. Their baklava is also the best I have ever had! They serve everything in cute little pots and pans and the pricing of the dishes is extremely reasonable. It is suggested to make a reservation as this place is found by locals and tourists alike. Even on a regular weekday it can be completely filled with satisfied customers!

The basic principle of cured meats and local cheese paired with good wine and beer is a good one, however I think this place has become over popular and standards have slipped slightly. They have crammed as many tables and chairs in as possible so much so that it makes it difficult to get seated at your table and makes for an uncomfortable experience. The menu is good, but I was very disappointed with the service. We ordered a meat and cheese platter without bread. We had a long conversation with the person who took our order, and she spoke about how she would make a specific note to leave off the bread because of an allergy. When the platter arrived, of course it was intertwined with bread. We told the waiter and he brought a replacement within a few seconds - same plate with the bread hastily removed but leaving behind breadcrumbs everywhere. Disappointing given we pointed out the allergy and the waitress talked through it at great length. Other plates were not quite as good as previous visits. A shame as this place has the potential to be great.
