Our stay at Cocos was good. Resort location, pool, beaches, rooms and bar amenities were upto the mark. We really had a relaxing time there for our vacation. The food menu was great and liked to have some local specialities everyday.

A few things that bothered us in our stay were all hospitality related things. When one pays so lavishly for a resort, one expects a decent service from the staff. After traveling for 20+ hours from California, we had to drag our own personal bagpack to the room on a hill. We interuppted the housekeeping lady while cleaning. We did wait outside and let her complete her work. But since we had to go out soon with a change we asked her to come back to complete the bathroom floor. We had to call in twice later that day to get the bathroom floor cleaned. It had beach sand so unfortunately we couldnt use it. There were no beach towels on the valley church beach. We asked the staff there and waited right in front of him for almost 30 mins and still there was no action on his side to get fresh towels. We had to skip our beach time and head back dissapointed to the villa. The wait time for the food was also very unually long even for simple desserts or appetizers. And the cats were really annoying. Some guests are not pet friendly and that should be taken in consideration by the resort.
Overall we will recommend the hotel, but staff definitely needs to be well trained. Female staff and a couple male staff were really fantastic but some seemed too lethargic to do their jobs.

Room tip: Roms with sunset view and pool are the best

We have just returned from 8 nights at Cocos for our honeymoon and I am already trying to persuade my husband to go back!

This place is absolutely phenomenal.

On arrival you're greeted by their incredibly friendly staff who whisk your luggage off for you to your cottage before taking you - importantly - to the bar. We arrived towards the end of lunch service after flying from NYC on leg 2 of our trip. We were pretty tired and grumpy but that changed within minutes of arrival. We were seated in the restaurant, ordered food and drinks and from then on it just kept getting better.

The cottages are amazing. We didn't spring for a pool or a sunset view but we didn't need to, We could see the sunset from our balcony - just not face on. And who needs a pool when you've got the beach and the Caribbean right at the foot of the property? We were in the sea every day. The outdoor showers were amazing - I am already complaining about having to shower indoors again! The four poster bed was comfy and the mosquito net was needed! Air conditioning is very good and the wifi signal is strong all over the property.

The food is phenomenal. Like other travellers I had read reviews before coming and was prepared for smaller portions but the staff have no problem if you order more than one dish - and some staff even encourage it! All the food was delicious, with daily specials changing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had one of the best cooked steaks of my life at this place! The restaurant staff are all lovely and friendly and so helpful.

The drinks are equally as good. The wine list was small but varied and no trace of a generic house-style to be seen. The cocktails were delicious - Akil the bartender at the main beach bar is very inventive so don't feel you have to order off the menu! Be warned though - if you ask for a rum and coke it will be very strong!!

There is a pool but nobody uses it because it's next to the beach,,, and why would you?! The hotel has sun loungers on both beaches and bars too and they are very good quality. because of the limited number of guests you will never struggle to find a lounger so there's no need to run down at 5am and throw a towel on them! There are local tour operators who will approach you on the beach but they are all friendly and if you're not interested just say so and they leave you alone for the rest of your trip.

Nothing was too much to ask and whilst we were relatively low-maintenance guests we did see others asking for champagne to be sent to their room, or arranging dinner on the beach (for an additional charge) and the staff were more than happy to help.

We booked on a honeymoon offer and were given a complimentary couples back massage at the spa. We almost didn't book it but after a fellow guest recommended it gave it a go on our penultimate day. Wish we had done it before as if we had I am certain we would have gone back for more treatments! It was so relaxing and one of the best massages I've had. Entertainment was provided on alternate nights and was great. Thankfully nothing too hardcore as we were definitely here to relax.

We are already thinking of returning in the future for an anniversary, or a birthday, or a Tuesday... Can't recommend this place enough.

Room tip: All rooms are great!

From the moment one arrives in Antigua your greeted by friendly people with addictive smiles. Our passage through the airport and to our awaiting transport arrangements happened smoothly and efficient, our friendly driver introduced himself and loaded our cases before travelling to the Cocos Hotel. After a fairly long trip due to the road conditions, if you can believe it more 'Pot Holes" than the UK plus reqular high 'Sleeping Policemen speed bumps' and deep 'drain gullies' across the roads. On arrival at Cocos we were greeted by even more Smiles and checked in, where we were told all the necessary information, asked for our mini bar preferences, choice of two bottles of spirit, beer and soft drinks. We were shown to our individual cottage, kingsize bed in an ample size room with double doors leading to a fair size balcony, a double bed, hammock, chairs and coffee table with a beach and seaview. A shower room with full plumbed facilities, plus a highly recommended outside shower if required.

So glad I booked this hotel. It's really an authentic - boutique feeling establishment. The views of the water and beaches were what you imagine and hope they would be when you arrive. They don't get old no matter how long and often you look in the direction of the water. I should say - if you can afford it - get the room with a pool. It makes a big difference - and if you can't - well raid your kids bank account so you can.

Our villa was lovely and is quite a good workout to get to as we had to climb two hills and a staircase. I was always out of breath by the time I got to the room - which made the pool even more inviting. Perfect water temperature too.

We ate a lot of food - both in the restaurant and tons of room service. The ham and cheese ciabatta bread sandwiches were great - and were a fantastic in between meal snack. so this kept us active. The food was delicious and the drinks were made with love and you can tell all the ingredients were authentic. No powders, no added sugars - all real. The pina colada - was made with genuine coconut cream - not an added flavor. I physically saw the coconut cream myself. . You can order more than one appetizer and entree so don't be shy. The seafood risotta was an additional $25 charge but i had it every night I was there. Well worth it! The last night - they jammed so much seafood in for me I was so happy lol.

I would definitely return - the entire staff truly went out of their way to make it an enjoyable trip!

Thank you from Bradley
