A really lovely family run business , the restaurant is spotlessly clean and has a really nice menu , I would say traditionally Spanish with a hint of Italian influence. We had a mixture of dishes from the menu and every single one was well made and very tasty . We had tapas type dishes to start ! Their homemade ham and cheese croquettes were amazing . Pil-Pil a dish that is so varied, we very really have the same style any where in Spain but nevertheless Albahaca's was delicious . I had the seafood soup to start , this contained generous chunks of Whitefish mussels and clams .They do not have a kids menu but we think that's a good thing as there are so many child friendly dishes in the menu . Our 5 year old twin boys tried the croquettes and loved them followed by the rosada fish with chips . The service was so welcoming from every single member of staff that served us . They all were happy and very nice people . We can't wait to return ! Well done to all the staff at Albahaca you have our vote for the best restaurant in La Cala . Good luck for your future
We passed Albahaca reroute to the beach, the restaurant had a good mixture of locals, which is a sure sign food is good. Impressed not only with the food, but also the warm welcome from the Spanish owners, sitting outside where there is a pleasant backdrop of a children's playground. Admittedly, it is a bit close to the busy coast road, but surprisingly that soon becomes no more than a minor distraction.
On our visit we had dinner, paella, black noodles and pork tenderloin. All dishes were very good. The paella one of the best ever! The prices, including drinks, are fair and reasonable.
Well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed, very friendly staff.
Stumbled upon this place as was right by the bridge we used. Lovely toasties and very cheap. We called for drinks on way home one night. Always busy especially with Spanish. Look forward to going back next year.
My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant for lunch today. It was purely by chance, as it is off the beaten track. What a find!! Exceptionally friendly staff who were keen to ensure we were well looked after. The food was excellent, fresh and well prepared. I had the chicken salad, which was absolutely delicious and my husband said his creme brûlée was the best he has ever tasted. We asked a few questions about tapas and a very nice lady came out to give us the information we requested. She told us it is always good to ask about the specials of the day, as their meat/fish is freshly delivered daily and there are sometimes extras that are not listed on the menu. We are here with 8 friends and raved about our experience when we got back to our villa. We will definitely be back, as a larger group, before our holiday ends. Highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed
