We spent two nights at the hotel. The rooms are clean and modern with all you would expect from a 21st century 4 star hotel, albeit a touch of paint on the walls to cover old scuff marks would have been a wise investment! WiFi worked well throughout the hotel. There isn’t a gym, but there is a Holmes Place near by.
There is a roof top bar/terrace with decent views of the city, breakfast is served the floor below the rooftop and also commands restricted city views but still nice to have, breakfast itself is fine but the selection is somewhat limited, it gets you through the morning.
Personally I found all the staff to be very helpful and nice.
The hotels location is central but a bit of a walk from the riverside, saving grace is it’s downhill and cabs aren’t expensive (Uber exists here too) for the return journey.
The area of the hotel was undergoing some, what appears to be regeneration, so construction work was taking place near the hotel, although the noise level wasn’t a nuisance and demolition had finished.
There are prettier areas in Porto but I’d recommend this hotel for the good value. You will pay a lot more near the riverside for this level of quality.More
