We stayed one night in cinema hostel in a private room. The location right in the city center can't be bitten and it really felt cozy and warm. For sure a great place to go back to after a day of walking around the city of Porto. They have a great kitchen for cooking and a cool rooftop. Clean, safe and lovely staff - best option in town.

The Rivoli is one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in (and I've been in quite a few!)
Situated wonderfully close to the majestic Avenue dos Aliados, you're no more than a 10/15 minute walk away from the Riverfront, the three main streets where all the bars are, or further into Porto via the Metro.
The rooms were clean, bright and nicely decorated! I liked how every room was given a particular film, even if mine was Marie Antoinette!
The downstairs area/common room is again, one of the nicest I've had the pleasure to hang out in. A different event each night of the week helps you settle in, and meet some of your fellow guests - the pub crawl on the Saturday was especially fun. Porto after 12am really is something to get involved in!
The staff were so helpful, they gave us some amazing recommendations of where to get some proper food in Porto, and where to avoid the tourist traps. Ask about Guedes, and Munchie burger bar! You will NOT regret asking!
Thoroughly recommend anyone thinking of staying here!

nice idea that the hostel is based on, certainly provides for good entertainment. The hostels also has a wide selection of games and movies that you can watch. The atmosphere was generally lively and surprisingly the hostel wasn't too loud at night. The staff were all helpful and very friendly. All common areas including the kitchen and bathroom were clean. The hostel is a great value and is in a prime and easily accessible location. The roof terrace is a plus!

Looking for a good hostel in Porto we found the Rivoli Cinema hostel right in the middle of the old town of Porto.
It is situated on a noisy street on the way to one of the most noisy streets in Porto, the Avenida aviados.
In the hostel you don't hear the noises from the street so much but you know the street is there.
You have to climb up to the first floor with the reception.
We came without Reservation but it was no Problem to get a bed in the dormatoryroom.
The Price per night was ok and the breakfast was included but not a big one.
Also in the first floor there is a big commenroom with internetcomputers, flatscreen, Couch and DVD Corner.
Also on this Level there is the guestckitchen with everything you Need to prepare a good meal including microwave and cookingplate.
The rooms are one Level higher.
We had dormbeds with old matrazes but the cleanness of the room was ok.
The bathroom was in good conditions but not always clean and the showercabin was not enought space if you don't have modelsize.
What's not so good in this hostel is there is nearly no place in this hostel who is not camaracontroled, they really whatch you everywhere and I felt a Little bit like in a prisson with sooo much control.
Ok security is needed in a hostel but this is really to much "big Brother" guys!
The Highlight of the hostel is the terrace on the rooftop, nice Feeling even if there are all the housses arround what makes the look not so good.
The staff was very helpfull and Kind most of the time, especially the Girls were fantastic and funny.

Room Tip: There is no Elevator so better don't go to the Rivoli Cinema Hostel if you are handicaped by your feet. The street in front of the hostel is very noisy but it is ok, only at Weekends when the People are making Party it is hard to find sleep in the rooms.
