Negatives:

- I booked more than 2 months in advance, a special superior room with view and a queen- or king size bed. But we got 2 singles and no possibility to get a bigger bed?! So apparently; book half a year in advance, or take the suite, if you want to be close to your special someone!
- The cleaning was not thorough, since there was a cigaret-butt and some plastic things on the floor when we checked in.
- The bathroom is really dated! From the 60's or something...
- There was only "shower gel/shampoo 2in1" in the room... which is not normal in a 4* hotel?
- The pool in spa needs a good scrub! And some repairs...
- You need to wear a swim-cap/bonnet while using the pool? But that's a Portuguese rule apparently - Not a hotel-policy
- the duvets didn't have covers! It was just a sheet under the duvet, and a blanket on top... and there was only 1 pillow

Positives:

- The massage is one of the best I've ever had in my life!
- The staff was friendly and also apologetic about our issue with the twin-beds. But they didn't do anything about it though.
- The breakfast was okay (not worth 4* though)
- The location and ocean-view is great.
- The Casino Next door is great
- The restaurant 100 m away has great fish!
- It's close to the train station if you want to get to Porto cheap and easily. (1,85€ I think)

It is definitely not a 4 star hotel for me. But the price kinda gives that away, so we weren't expecting the deluxe experience. But not having a queen or king size bed available, for a booking made 2 months in advance, for a superior quality room, and in a half empty hotel is the reason I'll never book here again.

But if you want a place, that is a nice central base, for a good summer-vacation, with excellent massage, and great ocean view, this is the place to book - As long as you don't mind old bathrooms, average breakfast buffet, weird linnen-solutions on twin beds, in a Hotel that needs a massive face-lift.

Do you like the 70s? This hotel is for you.
But watch out its not vintage it's just very old. Seems nothing has changed since 40 years .....
Somehow they also kept the 4 * rating they had back then. But I give it a no star at all.
The only nice thing is the view of the sea as it is on the beach, but half of the rooms don't have it....
Mr owner it's time to invest again and make this place a decent hotel.

Good ratio quality-price. Fantastic wiew of the beach and ocean. Fast and gentle check in and out. Breakfast time from 7 am. In some case could be an issue if you have an early morning flight. Standard rooms but very clean

We have visited PraiaGolfe before as it is only 45 minutes from Porto airport and lets us unpack and get in a leisurely day before other commitments in the country.
This time a wonderful room on the 7th floor and the beach and ocean as far as the eye can see.
It was good to be welcomed by the same lady on reception and to assistance with the bags and parking.
We look forward to returning soon.

Room tip: Try for a sea view room north side or front as high as possible

If you want to go back in time, that's the place! The frontage looks really old and the interior doesn't help. The service was really good and the staff quite hospitable.

That's the only positive aspect, the rest is not worth a 4 stars hotel. Only one small pillow, room that looks like a 2 stars max.

I'm not used to be mean with my comments especially when the staff is great but guys come on do some refurbishment!
