We stayed at this hotel for several days last august. This place is quiet with a remote country feel yet the town of Barcelos is quite close by. Staying here provided a nice balance of quiet relaxation and exploration of the surrounding area. Piers is an informative host and kindly gave us a fabulous tour of the chapel and winery.. I loved the pool though it was really too cold to enjoy during most of our stay. We had a great time exploring the surrounding area and even stumbled upon the ruins of an old fort! Piers also gave us recommendations for local restaurants and activities.that were very useful.
