We just loved our one day cruise to Porto Santo on Lobo Marinho. We were collected from our hotel at 7am for the 8am sailing from the port of Funchal. The crossing was really enjoyable. This is a lovely little ferry with restaurants, shops, lots of seating areas, and a cinema. There was plenty to see and do onboard, but we tended to stay on deck and enjoyed the sights of the Madeiran coastline. The ship was quite full, but.there was plenty of room for everyone. The prices of the food and drink were very reasonable - €1.20 for a cup of coffee was excellent value, we thought. The voyage takes two and a half hours, reaching Porto Santo at 10.30 am. There isn't an awful lot to do when on the island, but the beaches and surrounding areas are really beautiful. We opted for a bus tour which was really interesting. The sea was so blue and the sand so golden, it was amazing. It is a very long day, as the ship doesn't sail back until 8pm, reaching Funchal at 10.30. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic day and well worth the fare. If you have a spare day on your holiday, you must do it!
This is a good ferry with plenty to keep you occupied. There is a few different bars for food and drink, a kids play room and cinema. If you pay an extra 12 Euros each way you can go into the first class lounge if there's room and you've not prebooked it.
It's a long day, only one ferry per day. Leaving Funchal at 8AM and leaving Porto Santo at 7PM . The trip takes 21/2 hours each way.
Cruise was OK, nothing special, not overbooked, this is a only mean of transport to Porto Santo island, from Madera it goes at 6 AM and it drives you back at 6 PM. Ticket is 60 euros per person, and it lasts about 40 min.
Thank you Ivan986, for your feedback.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the journey.

Early start to board the ferry to the beautiful island of Porto Santo. We were met by a great tour guide who explained much of the history and geography of the island. Gorgeous golden beaches to enjoy in the afternoon. Brilliant day out.
Thank you mlm30, for your feedback.
We are happy to know that you enjoyed your day at the idyllic island of Porto Santo, in the famous golden sandy beach and the trip on board our ship “Lobo Marinho”.
As you mentioned, the package with excursion is highly praise by our customers as is the best way to get to know the island.
For a more exclusive and relaxing crossing we advise our passengers to choose the First Class fair, with its private lounge located above the command bridge with a superb view of the entire coast of the island of Madeira and Porto Santo and at the same time enjoy a fantastic breakfast to give you energy for a great day. On the return trip is also served a snack buffet.
We hope to have you back on our ship in the near future.
For your information, the porto santo line is not so clear with their times.
I bought first class tickets and the boat was supposed to leave at 8:00 in the morning and on the tickets it said to arrive up to 30 minutes to the ship's departure so I arrived at 7:55 but the staff would not let me on the ship so then i had to go to the ticket office, which one of the staff members (who did not let me on the boat) said it was the next building down but it turned out to be around a five minute car ride. So I arrived at the ticket office and it said it would open at 9:00 but didn't open until 9:17 and there was only one person working there and there is a no full refund policy and you only get %50 of the amount you paid or you have to pay €5 each way per person to change the trip. So what i am trying to say is, don't do this.
Thank you Review_The_World_Now, for your feedback.
Porto Santo Line is committed to providing an excellent service to our customers, and we regret the ordeal that you went through. We rely on communicating thoroughly the information regarding the check-in process and transportation contract, both through the tickets and our website, as well as in our stores.
Therefore, as you mentioned and well, on the ticket there’s information regarding the check-in time - Article 4), of the “Passenger Maritime Transport Agreement” is very clear:
Boarding:
Passengers should present themselves to board at least 30 minutes before the estimated time of departure; otherwise boarding will not be allowed.
Based on your description, you arrived at 07:55, so the boarding was not allowed.
Regarding the no full refund policy, it is also in the “Passenger Maritime Transport Agreement” - Article 11):
No Boarding:
a) Boarding: passengers who fail to report for boarding, under the terms and time issued on the ticket, and have made their reservation, are bound to full payment, without any refund;
Also mentioned on the ticket, is the information regarding the changes of the dates of travel, any changes of travelling dates less than 48 hours prior the date of departure, will be subject to an additional fee rated at the moment of the exchange.
We reiterate our regrets regarding this situation caused mainly by misinformation, but we hope to have you back in our ship in the near future, so that you experience the lovely island of Porto Santo.
If you like going to the beach this trip is for you just hope you get a sunny day. We got a cloudy view and after a trip around the island, does not take long, we had five hours to fill if not for the iron man contest we would have struggled.
Thank you Ken T for your feedback.
