A nice classy restaurant in Sintra. Although many tourists, it does not have the touristy feel. As others have noted, you are greeted by the owner who also served us (does not speak English well but easy to communicate with). The food was very good. For my main, I had pork cheeks which had a very robust, complex flavor. The highlight though was a black sausage starter (not at all like British black pudding), which was chopped sausage (like mince) served with crackers (not that appealing, looked like saltines). Very tasty. Wine was also good and reasonably priced. Only negative was my wife was disappointed with her vegetarian risotto, as the vegetables tasted like a frozen veg medley.

In a side street off the Main Street near the station you will find this charming little restaurant. The menu is small but offers choice to suit everyone. From meat and fish dishes to vegetarian. We came in the middle of the day and at the end of the high season, but we understand it can get very crowded. The owner speaks (besides Portuguese) Spanish and some English also and was very friendly. The food varied from good to excellent depending on the dish. There is also a expansive tea menu with a wonderful diversity of teas.

Very unique place and we recommend visiting. We ranked 4 because the food was good but not excellent. We were hosted and served by a remarkable, astonishing, old lady that served the entire restaurant by herself!

This restaurant is amazing. Every one of the dishes was way (way!) beyond expectations. It's expensive, and It's totally worth it!
