The building has a great atmosphere. The rooms less so - it is a pity because with such a location and such a nice historic glamour it would take little effort (a little design to cheer up the rooms) to convert the silghtly miserable worn feel of the rooms and then it would be a chick hotel.

But do not be discouraged, it is still a clean, good hotel in a great location - it could simply be much nicer with a little ingenuity, affection and attention to some detail.

Good location gives the one star..

Everything else is bad. Upon arrival the staff didn't even welcome us or smiled.

Rooms and hallways are smelly. All furniture are old - perhaps where the smell comes from.

Noisy from the other rooms when they open and close the doors.

Buffet the worst. Only for 2 hours, no such thing as a customer service, the plates with frutes, eggs, vegetables and etc are constantly empty because they serve them in such small portions, we had to wait for something all the time.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!

You could easily find another and better hotel for the same prize elsewhere.

We have stayed a week in this Hotel. Staff was helpful, breakfast was good but boring....every day the same. Location is very godd, easy to reach public transport. Our window saw to the backyard, which was a bit noisy (every night at 12 pm came the car for the trash). Housekeeping was awful: Our room was cleaned every day, but 2-3 days towels/soap have been missing, and our clothes have been packed over....my fiance's watch has been missing, but a few hours later we have found it in a surprising place...in the table, on a shelf.

Room tip: rooms looking on the park should be more quiet

Stayed here four nights on recent Lisbon trip. Staff was very helpful in getting boarding passes printed. Breakfast is chaotic since very small area and does not open till 8am. People waiting in line to be seated. Convenient access to airport and downtown. A block away from metro stop.

Room tip: Elevator only goes to fourth floor so avoid fifth floor

Stayed here for three nights, very decent value for the money. This hotel was literally a quarter of a NYC block from the very reliable and easy to navigate train station.
A small gym is located on the 7th floor.
I would skip the breakfast as it is ok at best.
Wifi was great.
Rooms are small, but clean and adequate.

Room tip: Great location to the train.
