This busy little place was recommended by family. No nonsense kitchen and service. Food was tasty and came in big portions. Obviously frequented by locals. Not too much choices for veggies.

Pan fried Soul was outstanding along with the rice and vegetables that came with it.
Steak and mushrooms that came with fries and small salad were good as well.
37 Euros with bottle of wine, bottled water and delicious caramel mousse for dessert made it a great value meal as well.
Totally recommend this restaurant!

We really enjoyed our meals here, especially the mushroom sauce served with my steak. The staff didn’t have great English, but we liked that as it felt more like a traditional Lisbon restaurant. Our meals here were much better than the touristy restaurants closer to the Praça do Comércio.

Would definitely go back next time we’re in Lisbon.

Victim of its own success? This would probably once have been a very good restaurant. Given this review comes at end of a season and I have tried to allow I still found them jaded and cynical.

Food ok

I almost convinced myself that it had ‘charm’ ‘authenticity’. It doesn’t really. It is average but because it’s become busy they don’t care anymore.

I thought that maybe it’s too busy for them and that they no longer seem to enjoy it.

Shame really.

Recommended to us by a local Portugese person who said the food was great - and they were right! It is off the beaten track a little so took a bit of finding. The menu was also in English, but the staff were very friendly and helped us choose off the menu anyway. We were highly delighted with this choice of a place to eat. Afterwards we walked a short distance to the Viewpoint of Santa Catarina to watch the sunset with a great view over Lisbon.
