Old Style is absolute OK but the internet was very slow and did not function at the rooms. The hotel uses internet without password. It is not to-day - safe enough. Look better at pictures than in reality.

Hotel with lots of quirky touches. Older hotel so no mod cons. I would have appreciated a kettle in the bedroom and perhaps bottled water. Staff extremely helpful. WiFi and TV reception was irratic. Very well positioned. Close to beach, shops, station and casino.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel 12 years ago as part of a touring holiday and loved it so much we always vowed to go back. It took us over a decade, but we made it to a new and improved hotel. It has had a full makeover and was just as wonderful as we remember it. We decided to stay in one of the rooms in the new wing with a balcony and it was so chic and modern, a stark and quirky contrast to the wonderful old antiques in the original hotel. Some have mentioned the old floors and the rickety lift? It's an old building, embrace it! The "old" floors are beautiful parque, the lift is quite an experience, especially the final bounce as it reaches your floor! The new pool and patio area is really special and I loved the breakfast variety in the quirky dining room. We didn't eat there of an evening but it seemed popular. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable and extremely friendly.
Estoril itself is quiet, which appeals to us, but there a few restaurants and an open late mini-mart for any bits you may need close by the hotel. Down the street is the sea and sandy beach and the promenade into Cascais (about 20 minute stroll away) which bustles with people and bars. The local train takes about 40 minutes to get to Lisbon, a truly beautiful city with glorious ornate architecture and the local bus to Sintra is a must. The whole area is well worth a visit and this particular hotel did not disappoint. Let's hope it's not another 12 years before I can return!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Close to the casino, beach and restaurants. Breakfast was good, rooms clean, tidy and well decorated. Staff are helpful, polite and efficient. You can take a two mile stroll along the beach to the more lively area of cascais or jump on the nearby train for a twenty minutes ride into central Lisbon.
Recommended, nice hotel.
