We stayed five days. Our suite 109 was perfect as much for its layout (lounge with terrasse, bedroom suite with separate door to the rest of the apartment, decor, well equiped kitchen, safe and good size walking robe) as for the room service.
Especially on Sunday and Monday the cleaning was done to perfection.
The employees of the hotel are all polite and very helpful. We did not find Cascais particularly interesting, however this hotel made it worthwhile to be outside Lisbon.
We found it relaxing to be in our suite after our long days visiting Lisbon. It takes 20 minutes to drive to Belem and to the city centre.
The suite was always impeccably cleaned. Breakfast is good, yet it could be improved by serving fresh Portuguese patisseries...the bred selection, the fried eggs, coffee, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, were all good. Portugal is such a delightful destination and the Sheraton never disappoints.

Room Tip: We were a long way from the pool so it was quiet and you could hear the birds singing outside out terrasse.

This is an excellent hotel. Splendid but not overdone. It is set in a secluded area of the beautiful town of Cascais, less than an hour from Lisbon, Portugal.
It is not facing the Atlantic Ocean but you are within a hiking or cycling distance, if you so prefer.
Over the years, I have stayed at quite a few Sheraton hotels but this resort is the most inviting.
The staff are helpful and prompt to respond to your needs.
The suite is well laid out with a separate bedroom from the living room both with a television set each. The bath and shower facility is pretty good.
Dining is good, the breakfast selection and variety is comprehensive. Checking in and checking out was seamless.

Everyone at hotel had a smile and tried to help you. Upgraded to a large suite without asking. When leaving needed a snack, the buffet lunch was going on , but they made it work, letting us make a sandwich from the buffet and only charging a small amount. Help in Kimya bar were special!

This place is back from the ocean front and set along acres of lush gardens and manicured lawns. The vibe of the place gives a nod to Portugal heritage of yesterday, while delivering a modern edge to its culture. really established to make the most out of the surrounding areas, the resort offers full access to biking, hiking and day trips to the amazing mountain village and castles. The suite I had was very well appointed, beautiful balconies that opened onto the lush views of the gardens and had a modern taste. The oversized bathroom was fabulous and the building colours reflected beautifully on those sunsets. If your looking at visiting the region, this is the resort for you, you never even have to leave the grounds.

Sorry but this isn't a five star hotel no matter what it claims.

First though the positives. Beautiful and well kept grounds. A very spacious and clean suite. Pleasant and (apparently) helpful staff. Plenty of peace and quiet.

Despite this and glorious weather there were unfortunately too many niggles and shortfalls to elevate the overall experience above three stars. Many others have already raised issues on this review site and, it would appear, that Sheraton have not done anything about most of them - despite their claims that will. For those keen to know more I suggest you read previous posts and be aware that the majority of the problems with service and satisfaction still pertain.

Key points:
We were not picked up from the airport by the hotel as arranged/agreed with Voyage Prive (to be fair we're still not sure whose fault this was)
No advertised welcome pack despite pointing this out twice to reception
No pool attendant/towels until 14.00 on our first full day and erratic on other days
Breakfasts - hit and miss service, a coffee machine which regularly broke down and (quel horror!) no pasteis de nata
Inadequate air conditioning even when reported twice and supposedly fixed
Wi fi erratic (and needed to be purchased for in room use unless you joined the partnership programme; really? In this day and age?)
Room keys that demagnitised on more than one occasion necessitating a very long walk to reception
A shuttle bus service to town that only went if there was capacity to run it making any planning impossible
etc. etc. (as I said, please see previous posts)

The whole experience smacked of a Sheraton franchise which isn't being well monitored.

A note to Sheraton. Please do not cut and paste your standard reply to these issues. It means nothing as you have done this many times before and, as far as I can see, changed little. In fact it is quite insulting to those of us who have raised valid issues

Dear Mr. Champman,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us on your recent stay at our hotel. Please accept my most profound apologies for the unpleasant experience you had.

It is truly disappointing that we were unable to provide you with a prompt and seamless solution to the issues faced and this is certainly not reflective of the Sheraton brand and standards. Rest assured that I will be personally working closely with the leaders of the relevant teams to review our processes and trainings to not only prevent a similar situation from happening again, but to also attend to problems faced by guests in a more timely manner.

We sincerely appreciate the time you had taken to share your feedback with us, as this will allow us to identify the areas that we will need to focus on and we hope to see you soon to provide a memorable stay at Sheraton Cascais Resort.

Best Regards,
Luis Seabra
