Stayed a week for a business trip. The location of the hotel is superb, in the middle of an ancient citadel (hence the name). The interior is very modern, nicely equipped rooms - however there are quite some different rooms so its a bit a hit and miss on the size you get. I have probably met the most awesome and educated bar tender in my life who really lives for his job - hats off for that guy (I forgot his name unfortunately). The rest of the staff was friendly as well. Very pricy though, but worth it if it fits your budget. Most interesting points are in walking distance if you want to go out for a good meal, having a drink, or just go for a stroll enjoying the ocean scenery.

Great hotel very well situated ! Very close to Cascais center
Great breakfast, however poor restaurant for dinner. I strongly recommend to enjoy restaurants surrounded the hotel, lots of choices with great offer and quality

we had the best time staying here. couldn't fault anything. The location is spot on. Very clean. excellent breakfast. pool inside and out and love getting pool towels. staff all v pleasant and rooms were spotless.

The location and rooms are fantastic, however they must pay attention to the details. That is what is expected from a hotel of 400€ per night. I give some examples: the bathroom of the outdoor pool had no toilet paper (and it seemed there was not for one day or more), and by the way the access to this pool is possible from the street with no control. The waiters are not fast neither vigilant on the customers welfare. In the indoor pool floor there were parts without tiles and the columns at the solarium were rusty, needing a painting. Rooms are not done until 17h in the afternoon so if you want to take an after lunch nap you have to do it in your messy room. It seems there is lack of personnel and not very dedicated. In the bath of the room, they were not replenish the small shampoo bottles, from one day to the other. No parking integrated and they don't give you a valet service. Breakfast too busy with tables too close between them. In summary, you pay as a top hotel and you expect a top experience but you don't feel pampered at all. Next time in Cascais we will check another option.

Short of saying excellent lots of times, the food, hotel, facilities, breakfast were all just that. The location is stunning and a lovely short walk into Cascais and to the beaches. The hotel was first rate right from the minute we arrived as we were a little early they held our bags for us encouraged us to use all the facilities and when checking in was ready our bags were already in our room.

Can't wait to go back!
