Almost very good!
We came here for my husband's birthday and had booked online (it worked very efficiently).
We liked the decor and the service was friendly and the big choice of fresh fish lived up to our expectations, was well explained and well cooked.
The starter: bread, olives, squid salad and the wine (by the generous :-) glass) were all very good. The big let-down was the salad bar as at one point it was virtually empty and the rest of lettuce that had probably been lying in the bottom of the bowl was brown and watery, as for the rest there was not much choice.
This is a shame and maybe just a bad day, as the desserts proved to be very delicious and came in ample proportions.
So all in all a lovely evening, and despite the salad bar I would recommend as it is not always easy to have a large choice of fresh fish (very often frozen) on a menu.

Really friendly staff and comfortable seating environment. It is open air and low lights. It was an enjoyable experience with interesting discussions with the waitress about fish choices and wine selection. We had Boca Negra and Black Scabbard, both were excellent. After dinner we had raspberry ice cream which was really nice way to finish the meal. Red Sangria is recommended.

We love fresh fish and this was by far the best we found on Sao Miguel. The service was friendly and excellent. The variety of fish and the preparation were remarkable. We enjoyed the limpets, the octopus and the scabbardfish most of all but I suspect you couldn’t go wrong with anything you ordered. Our first lunch here was so good we drove back the next day to eat here again. If anything the second meal was better than the first. Our wine choice day 2 (a volcanic white wine from Pico) was also really good so we got a second bottle to take with us.

Lovely scenic drive down through the lush gorge to reach this restaurant. We loved the outdoor dining experience. Although we had no reservation, we arrived right at opening and they were happy to accommodate us. As a note, there were 7 other parties waiting for them to open on a weeknight so in future I would make a reservation. We went with the waitress’ recommendation of rockfish (whole) and triggerfish filet. Both were excellent. House red wine and the usual bread, local cheese and olives also good. Would definitely return.

2nd time to the restaurant. enjoyed eating outside. Enjoyed the fish meal and wine. Nice attentive service. Gets busy!
