Like most of the other reports we found the villa to be value for money. It was spacious and in excellent condition. There were signs of previous occupants - a cracked glad and a cracked mug as well as a chipped plate but that is to be expected with regular usage. The pool, was gorgeous especially as it was regularly checked. We had two main problems. The first was the large number of dogs in the adjacent houses which barked regularly day and night. The second was the statement that transport was not needed. This was quite inaccurate. You could have a gentle stroll down to the shops and further into the town centre itself but if you were bringing back shopping in any quantity it was a long hot slog up the hill to the villa which is at the top of the hill. Also if you wanted to take an excursion using local transport because you did not have a car it was quite a distance to the local bus station and train station. You could use taxis but as Albufeira is packed in August there are not enough taxis. You could wait up to half an hour before a taxi reached the villa! You could have a superb holiday in a superb villa BUT hire a car

We are a large family, 5 kids (one of which is a 1 year old) the villa was perfect for us. Very large living and dining area & great kitchen downstairs. The pool table and Swimming pool were the ideal distraction for the kids. Bedrooms are well decorated and more than adequate for any amount of clothing there is a travel cot for baby too. The bathroom has everything anyone could need with added extras like multiple hairdryers and lit mirrors. A downstairs shower caters for the less mobile or bone idle teenagers who want to sit during a shower (true story). Taking out the trash is easy enough with a communal bin store on the street below. It's in a very nice spot with views to the front and walking distance to the old town. Although it would be advantageous to hire a car if you are travelling with kids, although the local taxis are very good.
Sandra the owner was there to great us arranged the transfers (i can recommend this), very accessible and always helpful, gas was changed within 45 minutes once it ran out.
In short the villa was fantastic and we'd love to stay again.
Other things of use:
Alisupermarket is only 10 mins walk away and has everything that Lidl/Aldi have further up the road including fresh pastries, fish and meat plus the staff were very helpful.
Taxis are less than 5 minutes away, there's a cab rank on the Centro Saude near Alisuper and if you ask the driver will give you a card so you can get the same taxi each time. Useful for us with the minibus plus it was almost half the price of two cars.
Krazy world was good, Zoomarine was amazing although to really get the most out of it you'll need two days (second day ticket is only 8 Euros).
We had a great time at Villa Betty and would recommend to everyone
