An excellent little jewel in the heart of old Albuferia.
A short walk to restaurants, pubs, convenience stores and the lovely beach.
This is a spotlessly clean boutique hotel for couples only. An amazing professional front desk and general cleaning staff. They serve an excellent and varied buffet breakfast.
Very helpful regarding buses, trains and getting around town.
Good internet.
My only negative comment would be is the smoking on the terrace. Unfortunately this is quite common in Portugal and was the only drawback.
One cautionary note, do NOT drink the tap water in Portugal.
Would highly recommend this hotel.

We have visited Sao Vicente a number of times before and loved the location, decor, service and rooms. This time we were allocated a third floor seaview room with huge double patio door with a magnificent view of beach and bay . However the handles on the doors were both broken. One was completely missing the other loose and not operational. We reported this immediately and were told tomorrow? 3 days later no one had been to repair door handles. The balcony although wide was extremely narrow. The furniture in the room was very shabby , especially the small chair which was threadbare.
The breakfast room in stark contrast is beautifully decorated with new tables and chairs. It has an amazing view and a great place to start your day. The food is well presented and freshly prepared which must be very labour intensive for the staff. I realise that most rooms differ in decor and presentation but it must be time for the room on 3rd floor to be renovated and repaired. We found Domingos very helpful and pleasant and discovered that he makes a ' mean Margarita' The hotel doesn't really 'advertise ' their bar area and is very underused. Hotel is in a great location close to centre of Albufeira. Rooms facing the road are possibly more noisy than seaview ones although they get afternoon and evening sunshine.

Room tip: Seaview room

Positives:
Location - close to the beach and local shops
Sea View from pool area
A Portuguese lady who works there was very polite all times.
Easy to park on the road

Not so good:
Mostly all about the Room - very hard mattress, fridge broken down and reported but not fixed, no wireless internet, sewage smell at the door.
Poor communication between Booking.com and the hotel
You have to pay for the safe... that is not on!!
Overpriced for what it is.

We don't expect to stay again in this hotel.

I booked this hotel after reading all the good reviews, so I was surprised and disappointed to find myself saying never again. Firstly, we booked rooms which we thought had balconies overlooking the pool and sea. We got a room with no balcony overlooking the road. When we asked if we could be moved to another room we we were told there was nothing. This would be acceptable, however the gentleman who delivered the message was rude and arrogant. We asked for coffee at 11.30pm and were told he'd switched machine off so no, and anyway he was busy setting up breakfast. Breakfast was chaotic, with people serving themselves in a very small area, bumping into each other with hot cups of tea and coffee. The water wasn't always hot, but Luke warm. The rooms namely 102 has a bathroom but you have to walk in the shower to get in the bathroom, and there's no radiator to dry anything, as no balcony either. 103 was also a small room, but we did have radiator. All said, the ladies in the establishment had far better customer service skills no were very efficient and helpful. Location is also good.

The best location and view we ever have had. We had room 202, room 201-203 and 211-213 has beach and poolview, fantastic, but the room and specially the balcony is VERY small. I think 301-02 and 308-309 is better, bigger balcony. Room nr 304-306-307 is against the street/north.
Best room probarbly 105 and 105 with teracce on poolfloor.
And the location is just great close to everything including lovely centro Albufeira with everything. We were first week in april, perfect, not THAT much tourists. Breakfast and cleaning was also very good.

But something is missing in this hotel, staff not to happy, light is going off in pool-toilett after two minutes? So make it quicke, we also had problems with the heater/converter/air con. It lived its on life. I notised that is was only four outsideunits to all the ones inside??

We think this could easily be a five star with better management and control of details.
