From the moment you walk through the entrance you are embraced by the most charming multilingual staff you could wish to meet. The sea is like silk, and at your feet. And the food...well, the chef and her partner have just won one of Greece's top culinary awards - and justifiably so. The food is local-ish (from the Mani region), but with a modern twist and a very original mix of flavours. And a lot of the guests are Greek (always a good sign) so you're unlikely to bump into Harriet from Hampshire. The only downside for us was that some of the rooms are a bit small - but then there's little reason to stay in your room - apart from sleeping......

Room Tip: Some rooms are just above the restaurant.

Lovely setting only a few
Minutes walk
From the lovely village where you can eat on the beach looking out to sea during beautiful sunsets.

The room we had was lovely and the air con a saviour.

Breakfast was nice although regardless of whether you sit inside or outside you are invaded by wasps. They aren't aggressive but nevertheless it makes you rush your breakfast. Why don't they serve breakfast in the dining room with some light netting or voile covering the open windows to prevent the wasps coming in and so that people can still enjoy the beautiful views?

It would be nice to have music around the pool area. Just quietly in the background.

The pool is too small and we didn't go in it because the sun beds were too close to one another. For a hotel of this expense I expected a better pool with more privacy.

The service was very hit and miss. On arrival we had lovely service from the lady receptionist who spoken English very well. But on occasions we received the wrong drinks, service wasn't quick or attentive enough for a hotel of this feel.

We often couldn't locate the receptionist for new towels which was irritating. For a hotel
Like this there should be a dedicated receptionist.

We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel because the menu was too fancy for us. Why not do simpler food as well such as barbecues? Stone baked pizzas? Lamb cooked in the oven all day etc? It was all rather pretentious we felt.

We had a wonderful stay and loved the setting and the restaurants in the town were good. If you are in this area and want a fabulous hotel for similar price try Kinsterna which is about two hours from here.

Full of charm and character. Amazing breakfasts showcasing Greek food. Snorkelling absolutely fantastic. A car needed to make the most of Cape Tenaro. Top tip...Kokkola beach on East coast and the bay on the way to lighthouse at end of Cape not to be missed.

Room Tip: Tower room...but check everything in working order, they fixed our safe once we had asked.

In our last tour to Mani area, we had the chance to visit Kyrimai hotel and dine there. Besides the whole scenery/ambience that was amazing, the signature dishes of the Greek chef Stavriani Zarvakakou were excellent! Must have: the "surf & turf" plate with fish-bread-local smoked pork slices! Perfect balance between taste with a twist, quality & quantity overall! Service also great!
A "must" among the nicest restaurants of the area!!!
