We went to In 't Klein Stadhuis based on reviews and asking some locals. The place was busy but we were placed at a a table upstairs and informed that we would have to leave the table by 7.45pm (no problem as were going the Menin gate for the Last Post).
The waiter was great and spoke perfect English. The 3 of us chose steak with garlic sauce, porc cheeks in a sauce of "Sint-Bernardus Prior" & Duck breast in cherry beer sauce, seasonal vegetables (both with gratinated potatoes). All meals were lovely - really tasty and great quality meat, washed down with beer and wine.
It was so good we went the following evening with 2 of us swapping dishes and the 3rd had Flemish stew in a sauce of "Trappist Rochefort", with a salad of chicory and French fries. We also had a Cheese croquette as a starter (shared as it is fairly large).
Again the food was excellent as were the staff.
The building itself is beautiful.
