This place was very busy, so that tells you it is OK, but it turned out even better, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, the service was excellent and the drinks and food were exceptional.

We were a group of 13 looking for a typically Flemish restaurant in Ypres. From the tourist office and web searches we liked the look of t' Ganzeke. Bea very kindly emailed a choice of menus and we went ahead and booked. The restaurant lived up to and exceeded our expectations. Everyone had a great evening enjoying lovely food and very friendly and welcoming service. We were particularly appreciative of the offer from Bea to split the meal, so that we could attend the Last Post ceremony, and come back after and finish our meal. This allowed is to take our time at the Menin Gate and properly enjoy our meal.

So there were 20-30 of us here for supper and we went back the next night. Flemish beer stew on night one was very pleasant. Night two I ordered the scampi and bacon salad - looked very much like king prawn and smoked bacon salad when it came! It was however lovely!
All helped along by local beers and Primus beer, finished off with crepes, will we return again? Probably we will next time we're in Ypres. My mate Derek says he will too.

A very good experience here ! We didn't know Ypres very well and just dropped in for some dinner here at about 7pm. We were lucky to get a table outside - it was busy. But service was quick and food was good and reasonably priced. I had the Flemish stew, which was tasty. No complaints - other than the smoke from people lighting up at nearby tables.
