So there were 20-30 of us here for supper and we went back the next night. Flemish beer stew on night one was very pleasant. Night two I ordered the scampi and bacon salad - looked very much like king prawn and smoked bacon salad when it came! It was however lovely!
All helped along by local beers and Primus beer, finished off with crepes, will we return again? Probably we will next time we're in Ypres. My mate Derek says he will too.

A very good experience here ! We didn't know Ypres very well and just dropped in for some dinner here at about 7pm. We were lucky to get a table outside - it was busy. But service was quick and food was good and reasonably priced. I had the Flemish stew, which was tasty. No complaints - other than the smoke from people lighting up at nearby tables.

Came here for a bit of a late lunch (around 2:30). We ordered our drinks and wanted to order our food as well, but our rather surly waitress had already turned around and went inside (we were seated on the outdoor patio). When she came back with our drinks, she also brought the bill, which a) we had not asked for, and b) she had not even asked if we wanted to order anything else.
The food was not great, just some very average toasted sandwiches and some bland macaroni.
Would not return or recommend.

I and my friends were in Ypres for the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the battle of Passsendaele. While most restaurants in the Grote Market had long queues out of the door, just round the corner the tGanzeke (the Drake) was very busy but always seemed to have a couple of spare tables. You can eat inside or in the open air. The food is excellent, their half chicken is lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection, but all of the various meals we had were excellent.

The tGanzeke is well worth a visit

Ate here twice and enjoyed both meals. Staff friendly and attentive. Good food at reasonable prices. Nice ambience.
