Arriving by train, we walked around the harbour and some of the streets around a magnificent church and were making our way up a main shopping street towards the beach when we came across the tables and chairs on the pavement outside Restaurant Moretti. Ready for a sit down, a drink and lunch, we sank into the chairs in the sun and ordered two beers and food. A homemade lasagna which was steaming hot and fried scampi and fries were ordered and were very, very good. My husband said the lasagna was one of the best he has tasted.
Inside looked tempting and modern for an evening meal. At the time when eating our lunch and chatting, I said what a shame this restaurant isn't on the beach front/promenade as I felt it would benefit from more business but realised when we did get to the beach front there seemed to be very few restaurants, just a lot of apartment blocks. So, if you find yourself on the beach front/promenade in Ostende and wanting a lunch, do walk down Langestraat to the splendid Restaurant Moretti, you won't be disappointed.
