We had the pleasure of visiting Arthie's for my birthday lunch, while visiting Bruges last weekend. The decor is really quirky and colourful, and the service and food was excellent. It was a beautiful sunny day, so we chose to eat in the courtyard at the back of the property, which was very peaceful, with just the occasional sound of the church bells ringing out a tune. We had caipirinha cockrails which were delicious, shrimp croquettes with side salad, roast chicken with three sauces, and chicken vol-au-vent, all of which were excellent. The waiter was really friendly, and the service prompt. We look forward to revisiting, next time we're in Bruges.

The food is awesome and for a good price. I had pork ribs and my wife a vol au vent. The waiter, Bischow, was also excelent and made us feel very comfortable.

Imagine Dutch food with an Indian flair - yep that’s Arthies.
Wow! Delicious!!
Get the “special” with the starter, entree of choice, and a dessert.
We had the tomato soup, Flemish stew (out of this world), and the chocolate mousse for dessert.
And
The chicken croquette, with ribs, and chocolate mousse.

The Flemish stew ruled it all.

It was an outstanding ending to our Bruge tour.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Not to mention the waiters/staff were super super super nice!

We were attracted to this restaurant by the large, red chicken outside it. The first thing you notice is the very colourful and unique decor, with lots of animal motifs. I was slightly concerned that the decor may be the main point of the restaurant but needn't have worried, all the food we had (3 courses) was excellent. I particularly enjoyed my main of chicken vol-au-vent, which is a traditional Flemish dish that few other places seemed to offer. The service was very friendly and helpful. They had an excellent choice of Belgian beers as well. An all round enjoyable end to our trip to Bruges.

The deco and colours of the resturant is an eye opener. It is nothing i have seen in Brugge that is even close. Food portion serving is large and hearty. We had amoked hock and ribs with a chicken soup starter. The chicken soup is spiced with herbs that reminds me of home. We enjoyed our dinner. Oh try the fruit beer, it is very good.
