ok.. so positives - good location, very friendly staff (family business), very good dinner...

however as some already say in these reviews - very very noisy, especially the Africa room.. groceries, and restaurant supplies coming early with big trucks in the morning, tipsy people you can hear in the middle of the night coming back from pubs, and a guy who owns a bike without the absorber - deciding to ride it in the middle of the night and waking up all the area...every night the story was the same...
ohhh.. and it was very cold in the room as the heating did not work at all even if you put it on max...
we barely could sleep... and we were cold..

Upon arriving...Our host met us with a smile and warm welcome!! She took us up to the mediterranian room (beautiful) and showed us around the B&B. Then she told us all about the town and also where to go to see the sights, etc...

The room is amazing! My wife and I still can not get over how cool it was and how clean and spacious everything is for such a small building! The bath room was decorated in a beachy theme and really fit the room well! Always warm to come back to after touring the city.

Breakfast is served in your room at the time you specify!! I thought that was one of the best parts of staying here. We will def stay here again if ever back in beautiful Bruges!!!

Room Tip: There is no elevator in this B&B so make sure you specify which floor you want to stay on if you don't like going up and down very narrow stairs. The mediterranian room was really nice and as advertised!

Very friendly and helpful owners who bring your breakfast to your room. We stayed in the large Caribbean room on the second floor - one flight of steps. It was decorated in warm colors and the windows over looked a garden terrace and cobblestone street with horse drawn carriages passing by. We loved the quieter location yet situated close to all the main attractions when walking. The streets were crowded with tourists, being a holiday weekend. We also ate here for dinner on arrival, reservations were needed, especially this weekend. The meal was a gourmet delight but I will review that separately.

Good: Location very close to the central streets. Breakfast even if poor but nice to be served in the room.

Bad: Before coming to this hotel I read past reviews and was excited by its very high value. Now I can surely tell you that the score of this hotel is definitely over estimated a lot. Look what is written in hotel description: "features luxurious themed guestrooms with free WiFi and continental breakfast". It is a very far from luxury place, with windows maybe not changed for the last 100 years, so all noise from the street is in your room. The WiFi in the room in the ground floor simply does not work. You need to go upstairs to catch something. Having WC right in the bedroom is another thing that might shock you.

This place is amazing! my girlfriend and me stayed here for two nights and enjoyed not only the beautiful room, but also the amazing service of the friendly host Laurance.
The room is basically a suite. It has a table where you receive a delicious and diversified breakfast every morning (fersh orange juice, eggs boild to perfection, fresh fruits, ham, cheese, tasty coffee and/or hot choccolate, joghurt andwhatnot) and the bed is huge and probably the most comfortable one we have stayed in anywhere.
The Calis is located in the very center of Brugge, perfect for strolling around the city, yet it is not in one of the busiest and tourist-crowded streets. We had the Mediterrenean room and it was perfectly quiet.
They have a selection of good DVDs you can watch in your room and a lot of books on different topics, also Bruges guides (though only a small one in english). But Laurence was very helpful with giving tips on any matter.
Laurence and Daniel also run a cosy restaurant located in the basement. Unfortunately we didn't make it to eat there, but the menu looked very tempting.
Whenever we might revisit Bruges, the Calis would be first choice.

Room Tip: The Mediterrenean Room was a very quiet, suite like room with a huge and comfortable bed. The excellent bathroom is integrated in the room with visual covers, yet it is not seperated like an extra room. You can see that on the pictures. We knew that and liked it a lot.
