This old building is right on the canal. We stayed for three nights and were very pleased with our rooms and the service we received. The breakfast was self service but there was a very wide choice of hot or cold food, good coffee and a wide choice of teas. We would definitely recommend the hotel to people who like a bit of character where they stay. Be aware though, no lifts!

Room tip: Both rooms had baths with hand-held showers, fine for us. Quite a few stairs.

A great rustic hotel in Bruges that has convenient parking outside and provides a cost effective way to explore Bruges. The staff were really friendly and the rooms nice and warm on a cold stay. Breakfast could do with some improvements. Dirty tables were left unattended to.

This hotel is super cosy just by the water and 5 minute walk to the bell tower but it is still nice and quiet. The room was fantastic, a little bit rustic and perfect for a couple. The breakfast was really good and the breakfast hall was also very cosy. The staff was friendly and super helpful. I had lost my charger and asked if they had any spares and the man at reception brought me a whole bunch to choose from. Both me and my boyfriend are super happy with our stay here and we’d love to come back.

We stayed here for 3 nights, it was a lovely old hotel , very clean and was in a good quiet location by the canal and close to the old town. The only downside was the noise ( I am aware this is due to the age but we have stayed in buildings of a similar age and never experienced the noise we did here) we was in the first room on the 1st floor and every time anyone walked past, it sounded like a herd of elephants were passing through the whole room shook. All the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was also very good.

Just returned back from a few days break in Bruges and we could not believe how lucky we got with this hotel. Our room was really good valuable for money with it being highly spacious and full of character. We also had a lovely view of the canal outside. The hotel is also a short distance away from the main centre but not too close being in a fairly peaceful location.

The only negatives I would give was the shower head not being attached to the wall so you could not shower properly (instead opting for baths). This was not a major problem for me but I could see it being trouble for others. Furthermore whilst breakfast was perfectly adequate the facilities could have been improved with there being no bowls for cereal (instead small saucers were provided) and the toaster machine did not toast the bread properly.

However overall I was perfectly happy with my stay and would definitely come again.

Room tip: The newer part of the hotel appears to have more spacious and quieter rooms.

The fact that taking a shower is not possible (due to age and structure of the building) is mentioned very clearly in every profile of the hotel.
We do provide bowls for cereal, these are located on the top shelf above the cereals. The saucers are to support the cups (for coffee / tea). We did notice the toaster is sometimes on standby in stead of toasting as some guests mess about with the machine. We have instructed our staff to keep an eye on this.
