Ter Duinen is the most charming hotel one could imagine. It is situated on a quiet canal, yet within a comfortable walk to the centre of Brugge. We stayed in a room with a canal view, which delighted us every morning. The room was a generous size, the beds extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. From the moment of arrival the staff were courteous, friendly and keen to help in any way. I particularly appreciated the little touches; fresh flowers, a lovely smell in the air, a beautiful little lounge and garden, historic posters on the walls. The breakfast was ample, all of good quality, very pleasantly presented. This was our second visit, and we hope to return. We'll definitely continue to recommend Ter Duinen to friends and family.

Just returned from a long weekend stay in late March for our first wedding anniversary. We had a 'smaller canal view room' which was plenty large enough and perhaps undersells the room. I'd read many reviews before going and so had high expectations but I can't express enough how pleased I was to find these actually exceeded. There is a real warmth, genuine care and attentiveness from the staff which is rare today. We were struggling trying to work out train times back to Charleroi Sud on our last evening and made an enquiry with the staff. In the morning despite the staff on duty being different to the ones we spoke with our enquiry had been passed on and dealt with and a detailed schdule with options prepared for us.
The hotel is very charming with bags of character and a courtyard you can sit out in, in addition to the comfortable conservatory lounge area. It is immaculately clean even in the less obvious areas. The breakfast is to a high standard with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, tea & coffee with refills, range of high quality cold meats and cheeses, boiled eggs, fine rolls, cakes & croisants, dried fruits, toast and jam.......
Although the website is very good I think there are some features here which aren't mentioned that perhaps people should know about. Our room had two doors between it and the corridor so was very private and we heard no noise from adjacent rooms or the halls, there was not only the free wi-fi but also a computer available for those without smart phones or lap-tops, you get a card that entitles you to discount off boat trips and some visitor attractions.
It is an attractive short easy walk into the centre which passes some fine restaurants (and a locals bar that is worth a call in). Its actually on the recommended walking tour route which passes by on route to some nearby attractions.
If I go back to Bruges, and I certainly hope I do, I will definitely stay here again and recommend that anyone else does also.

Room Tip: I don't think you can go wrong with any of the rooms. The smaller canal view rooms are a decent size and very well appointed. The ones without canal view seem to have views onto the pretty courtyard, gardens, or townscape so aren't a bad choice either.

My husband and I visited Brugge in early March which was technically still the "off-season" and had a very relaxing stay at the Hotel Ter Duinen. Our room had a charming view of the canal. It had a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom/toilet. The hotel is within walking distance to the center of the old town or there is a bus that also stops just right in front. The Ter Duinen is located in a quiet street - not too close to the main tourist sites - so we were able to get a good night's rest.

The husband and wife hosts were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, suggesting restaurants and sights to see in this medieval town. The breakfast served was also very good with a nice selection of choices.

My wife and I have just returned from yet another wonderful visit to Bruges - and of course the Hotel ter Duinen where we've stayed it must be 15 times. Always we received a great personal welcome from our hosts Live, Marc and their staff.

Room Tip: If you're new to Bruges then a room overlooking the canal is great. If like us you've been there many times before, just enjoy the ambience of this great family run hotel.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at this lovely hotel. Perfect location, beautiful view of the canal, excellent service. The building has a lot of character and the bus that takes you to the train station is just outside the door. We loved it and we strongly recommend it.
