I took my Nephew 14, as he has particular interest in WW1 I was worried it might be a 'bit boring' for him, but he thoroughly enjoyed the day, Philippe (the owner and our guide for the day) was great and gave him an information booklet they use for schools. Phillipe had expert knowledge of the region and its history, information was given in a friendly easy style. It was well planned and comprehensive tour of the Flanders Battlefields. The small modern bus is clean & comfortable with excellent visibility wherever you're seated. There were plenty of stops for photos and reflection. A light lunch was included and was really enjoyable. Our pick up was from the train station, Phillipe arrived bang on time, we also took advantage of the Last post ceremony (well worth staying for) and were collected and returned to the same point. It's a long day, but very rewarding, and in my opinion worth every penny !

This was a very comprehensive tour of the Flanders Battlefields. Owner Philippe was our driver and guide, with a friendly manner and expert knowledge of the region and its history. The small modern bus is very comfortable with excellent visibility wherever you're seated. Plenty of stops for photos and reflection. Satisfying light lunch was provided at country hotel, as was bottled water throughout tour. We were picked up from our hotel in Bruge, and dropped back nearby. A long day, but very rewarding. We also think that the tour was excellent value and the charge most reasonable.

We took this tour a few weeks ago (early May 2018) and were very happy with it. Quasimodo is a small husband/wife tour company with small, comfortable buses (17 passenger?), personalized service, and a deep knowledge of the battles, personalities, and events around the Ypres salient. The cost was VERY reasonable for a full-day tour. We were picked up by taxi at our B&B and delivered to our guide and bus waiting at the train station. Lunch was at a small cafe and private museum at the Hooge crater, and the day was capped by a visit to the city of Ypres, where we were given 45 minutes to wander and see whatever we liked. It would be hard to pick a favorite stop, but the Tyne Cot cemetery, Hill 60, and the re-created trenches were certainly highlights. So even if you're not a WW1 history buff (we are not), this would be well worth your time.

This is an excellent tour and highly recommended. Philippe is a local who grew up in the area around the battlefields and has an encyclopedic knowledge of WW1. He did not stop talking from start to finish and gave us probably the best exposition of the causes and early part of the war I have ever heard. You get to see everything, from live shells still being dug up in farmers' fields to incredibly moving cemeteries and memorials to reconstructed trenches. Philippe is especially good at bringing the reality of warfare for the ordinary soldiers to life, supplemented by original photographs and vivid descriptions. His knowledge and explanation of chemical warfare is worth the trip alone! It's a long day, but very worthwhile.
Other reviewers have criticised the lunch. It's just basic bread, cheese and ham or pate. This is not a tourist area so not all tastes can be catered for. It's certainly a lot better than they had in the trenches - and you can even have a beer with it!

Took a tour of Flanders battlefields today with tour guides Philippe and Sharon. From start to finish, this tour was amazing. We were part of a small group (10 - 12 people), we were picked up about 9 am at our hotel and dropped of at the Markt around 7:30 pm. The tour gave us an glimpse of what took place in this area during WW l (be advise few if any US troops fought in this area). The tour included visits to both German and Allied cemeteries. This tour tour is well worth the time and money.
