I lived four years in Japan, and once in Brussels I struggled to find a Japanese restaurant that is actually run by Japanese. This is it. A family owned restaurant with a touch of Izakaya. Sober and calm atmosphere, ideal for couple but also business and amateurs alike. The menu is printed though Japanese characters are handwritten, the woman is in Kimono and is helped by a young boy, the father is in the kitchen. Soft music in the background. Wood all over the place. Sake bottles with people's name hang on the counter. Most importantly, the food is great. I don't say it's anywhere sophisticated fine dining. I mean it is great authentic Japanese recipes.

This small restaurant ticks all the boxes for a good japanese meal in a quiet and cosy setting. It is managed by a very nice couple who take care of the service and of the (open) kitchen. The setting is nice, unpretentious yet comfortable. The menu is complete, with a good choice of starters, sushi, warm dishes, noodles; there's also a small number of additional suggestions.
The food is in general very good, evidently very fresh and prepared with care: we tried the gyoza, a mixed sushi/sashimi and a grilled mackerel, which were all outstanding. We also had a portion of fried squid "feet" which was slightly overcooked.
Service is not the fastest (given that there are only two persons to take care of the restaurant) but the owners are truly pleasant.
The prices are not low, but are adequate in relation to the quality of the food.
Worth returning!

Small and intimate restaurant offering authentic Japanese cuisine.
I asked for Agedashi-tofu which was not on the menu but it was kindly prepared for me anyway. Sushi is delicious as are the other small Japanese dishes we tried.
I've visited Japan so I am very particular about Japanese food but this place gets 5 stars from me. Decoration is very sober, as you can see it in many Japanese places, small tables, don't expect anything fancy. Come here if you like traditional Japanese food. Service is very friendly. Food is not cheap but it's worth the money.

Very zen and clean...
Especially the owner of this restaurant, a Madame, is very friendly and knows how to serve the cuisine in terms of order of food.
You just order what you want to eat, then the Madame will serve you with the best.

We had some fried chicken, tofu, baked fish, udong, cutlets, tempura, and sake.
All of them were very delicious.

Price is little bit expensive than you may think, but if you know the quality of food, the price is very reasonable.
