You get more than you pay for at this "industrial grade" hotel. It is certainly economically priced, but with a style of accommodation to match. Small rooms with just the basic necessities. Its attraction, however, is its location, which is hard to beat. It is an easy 7-8 minutes walk from Brussels Central rail station and even closer to the magnificent Grand Place square. The hotel may at first be a little hard to find as its street front is just a doorway, although the name is written on the front of the building. While you can get there from the rail station along the sidewalks, the cobbles can make it hard going if you are pulling a rolling suitcase. The best way from the station is to go through the Galerie Horta mall, which has an entrance on the second level from the top in the station. By way of escalators and ramps, this will take you down to the level of the Grasmarkt. Exit into the roundabout between the Best Western Hotel and Novotel and The Moon Hotel is directly opposite.

Room Tip: If you stay on a Friday or Saturday, get a room at the back of the hotel. The market in the square o...

I normally stay in hostels but since I was staying in Brussels over holiday weekend all decent hostels were booked out and The Moon Hotel was the cheapest hotel I could find in a good location. Single room was quite large with desk, tv and cupboards. Free wifi was excellent. Decent breakfast included. No elevator. Friendly staff. Very close to central train station and Brussels old town (2 minutes walk each). Central station has direct trains to airport and intercity/international destinations. Also a metro station within central station, however it was closed the day I was there due to public transport strikes. No complaints about hotel but I'm used to paying much less in hostels rather than hotels.

Room Tip: ask for room on lower floors to avoid lots of stairs

It's located in a great location, many Brussels' main attractions are near here, It doesn't have lift, we got nice room with nice view, not too big but okay, nice staffs, nice free breakfast and wi-fi, but didn't provide proper Brussels map or Metro map or any attractions information.

My wife, 13 year old daughter, 12 year old son, and I stayed here 4 nights during the first week of August 2011. Hotel is conveniently located. It is about 200 yards from the Brussels Central Station and less than a 5 minute walk to the Grand Place. Other tourists sites such as Parc de Bruxelles, Royal Museums of Fine Arts, Royal Palace, Belvue Museum, and Manneken-Pis are all about a 20 minute or less walk away. There are also quite a few eateries nearby.

I used the hotel's website to make a reservation. There is no elevator. Rooms are located on the 2nd floor and up. I think the building has 4 floors. Check in is on the 2nd floor. We arrived about an hour before check in time. The front desk person was nice enough to store our luggage until then, but that storage space was very small. We travel with one medium luggage per person.

Our room was located next to the street. Room had a double bed, two single beds, and a nice view of the square below. There was a telephone, desk and chair, fan, and television. We slept with the window doors open. There was noise coming from the street, but we had no problem with it. If you think noise might be a problem, you might want to request a quieter room when you are making a reservation.

Hotel provides free wi-fi internet connection. Bathroom had a toilet, shower, sink, and hair dryer. Hotel provided towels and gel in shower and sink area. Change of towels were provided daily. Room had a small stand alone storage unit for hanging and storing clothes. There also was a small safe for us to use.

Breakfast was included, and it was very basic. It included croissants, sliced bread, cheese, milk, juice, coffee, and fruit cup.

Upon check out, I paid by credit card. The hotel was basic, clean, and a good enough place to stay. Also, it was very inexpensive when taking into account the great location. It was convenient for our day trips to Bruges and Paris by train. If we are ever in Brussels again, we will stay at The Moon Hotel. It also goes by the name Hotel the Moon.

This hotel has some pros and some cons.
On one hand, it is perfectly located close to the "Grand Place", the crew is very kind and helpful. On the other hand, on some points it appears not really professionnal. I had to wait 15mn when leaving for the credit card machine that didn't work. There was no more soap in the distributor in the shower. There was only one blanket and it was really cold the first night, and on top of that, it was really noisy. The breakfast is poor: no fresh bread, no toaster,...
However, this is rather cheap for the location, and the crew is helpful if you ask for something...
