The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. We had several fun conversations with him. He also taught us how to play the Crokinole game in the lobby. Games are definitely a theme of the hotel. One benefit is that there is constantly food and drink on offer. Another major benefit is on site parking. Given the parking issues in Brussels that was a major plus.

What a refreshing change this hotel is! The rooms are clean and quiet, and the hotel has a friendly personality. The fact that drinks and snacks are included is a real bonus. It is further away from the centre, but this makes it more peaceful, and it is a short walk into town, or you can get the 61 bus at the end of the street (1 min walk). It felt like I could relax and I would definitely stay there again.

I simply loved staying at the Funkey hotel. The location is quite far from everything major touristic in Brussels, but everything else about staying here was incredible. The hotel offers free parking which is a very rare item in Europe. The staff that checked us in was so excited to meet us and showed us all the freebies that came with staying here.

Not only was the room key fun - hence the name of the hotel - it was also a working mobile phone to call any number in Belgium free of charge.

Unlimited snacks and drinks were on offer in a very clean kitchen area. There were literally fridges filled with juices, milk, ciders and beers. There were cereals, chocolate, biscuits, cold meats, cheeses, and bread all day long. In the evening a massive cake was placed down for us all to enjoy.

The room was huge, ours even had an observatory attached to it. The carpets were absolutely colorfully incredible. Clean towels, nice shampoo and shower gel and good quality toilet paper was free to use.

Well done to the owners and all people who are part of this great hotel!

This is one of those places that definitely lives up to its reviews - it is very easy to have somewhere 'built up' too much but it was a perfect place to stay for a night! Uber from the city centre was €7 (at 2am... we had fun!) and it was about a 30 minute walk to get to the centre of Brussels. The freedom to help yourself to local beer and plentiful snacks, meats, juice, hot drinks etc as well as a great selection of board games (not just your usual ones either!) I can imagine that fun key would be great for a family with young kids as well as groups of friends like us. The rooms themselves were comfortable and for a place where you really don't want to stay in your room because of all the fun downstairs they had everything we needed! Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Brussels! Thanks!

We stayed at the Fun Key for two nights in August 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We did a lot of research before booking and chose the Fun Key due to the fantastic reviews that the hotel had. We arrived and were greeted by Philippe who introduced us to the communal facilities of the hotel and showed us to our room.

Our room was spacious and perfectly clean with a nice shower room. However we ended up going back down to the lobby pretty quickly to enjoy a free beer/soft drink alongside other guests. On our second evening, Philippe recommended a lovely Italian restaurant a short 5 minute walk away where we picked up a takeaway pizza that we brought back to eat in the garden at the Fun Key. A really nice touch which made it feel like a home away from home.

We walked into Brussels from the hotel which took about 30 minutes so definitely doable if you're looking to stay a bit outside of the City. The only thing to mention is that there isn't any air conditioning in the rooms and whilst we were there, it was about 30 degrees so the rooms were quite hot. The room had a fan, which was much appreciated, but maybe something to bear in mind if you're going in the summer.

However overall, we had a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend the Fun Key!
