I haven’t been to Grand Place for 17 years and when I back, the place is still impressive. With the group, we have a beer tasting at one of the beer museum and it’s fantastic.

I went alone to the chez Leon to eat mussels alone and it’s yummy. I tried the waffle at the Waffle Factory but the its a bit disappointed.

The souvenir shop located to opposite of the waffle factory selling value to money T-shirts

Visiting Brussels? You need to see Grand Place. It is the city's landmark and it is the heart of the tourist area, where one will find a lot of interesting eateries, chocolateries, waffles and other typical Brussels goods. The square itself id glamourous and with an interesting history. The City hall is there (a local was nice enough to point out that the City hall's tower is not in the center of the building, but I think the asymmetry simply makes the building more impressive). All buildings were built in the same period (around 1698) in the same style creating a glamorous total.

We ended up at the grand place while looking for morning waffles, which are on almost every corner in the surrounding area. It was great to see all the buildings and the open square with a light crowd. Later in the day this place was pretty crowded making picture taking a little less fun. You need someone to explain this history for this place, otherwise it’s just a pretty square.

I could stand there for hours and just look at the buildings. Gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, no words can adequately described it. If you see a red umbrella that says free tours, do it !!
