I went there on a rainy cold evening and was one of the very few customers.
Very depressing atmosphere, terrible service, and food wasn't anything special.
With so many good restaurants in Antwerp, this one does not deserve a second chance...

The location is pleasant as it's behind the cathedral so it's very atmospheric. Too bad it was rainy and a bit cold as the staff insisted to leave the front door open leading to cold feet and hands.

Food is just okay. Their specialty of mussels prepared five ways somehow didn't have much flavor although they were cooked with onions, garlic, and white wine. Asparagus soup was watery.

Service is slower than slow and the servers not a smiling duo.

I love Antwerp and all the cafes and restaurant that abound in the city, and even though it's difficult to pick a bad place, there are some spots that seem to be a bit too touristy for my taste, which I try to avoid. I usually walk a little off the beaten path and see what's around, and was lucky enough to find this little gem. Although Bacino is not far from the touristy area (right in the shadow of the Antwerp Cathedral of our Lady), it seems removed from the hustle and bustle of Antwerp. A co-worker and I ate there on a Saturday night, and while busy, it never got out of hand or noisy.

Upon entry, we were led to a comfortable dining room and offered our choice of several tables, we chose one by the window. We were given menus in English and were told of the specials on the blackboard. I had the Tomato & Mozzarella starter and then the Mussels (which are a specialty here in Antwerp) for my main course, my friend had baked Camembert and Lamb. Everything was delicious and had a great presentation. The service was impeccable and the beers were cold. It was such a relaxing dinner after taking in the sights and many squares of Antwerp. I will happily dine there again next time I am here.
