Description: Amsterdam is ready to enjoy the Japanese quality food in a casual setting with a good glass of sake and shochu. We have a great selection of sashimi and sushi for you but there is so much more to the Japanese kitchen than sushi. Besides sushi we offer adventurous bites and great tasting fish and meat dishes that can all be shared. Sharing is great fun as you can enjoy more tastes. Please take a look at our Kappo style set menu's also, with Ken's signature first course of several mouth watering appetizers.

Booked this restaurant well in advance. It was full on Saturday night. Service could have been better but seemed like the staff were truly run off their feet.

We ordered some sake, the chef special sashimi set, Wagyu beef on a 'Himalayan' style hot stone grill, prawn tempura and soft shell crab tempura. We asked for the sashimi to start and the rest to come later. We were warned of a 30 min wait for the sashimi but didn't mind while we sipped on sake. When it arrived the sashimi was excellent - fresh and well prepared. The best I have had in Europe and better than anywhere in the UK.

We loved the Wagyu - it came sizzling, and after you leave it to roast on the sides for half a minute each, the result is a piece of melt in the mouth delight. We sat at the bar at the sashimi chef gave us a piece of Toro to roast, such a treat! While the prawn tempura was well cooked, the soft shell crab was a disappointment - just was not meaty enough and a bit dry.

The bill came to just over 200 euros including sake. One of the best Japanese dining experience I have had (I've tried UK and Asia). We will go back again!

We ordered the tuna tataki and wagyu beef main courses with a variety of starters. Both were absolutely outstanding. The beef in particular was remarkable (and expensive, but not overly so considering the quality). The set menu options also looked interesting. Great sake menu and pairings. We'll definitely be back!

Judging from the large number of Japanese residents dining here on a busy Friday evening, this restaurant must have their stamp of approval. Speedy service, mostly English speaking, beautiful 'mise en plat' (the plate with sushi was a picture of art), daily recommendations (it is the season for white asparagus), and the classic tempura was crisp and non-fatty. All fine. And yet ... if you are hungry, do not count on the main course to satisfy you. It remains minimal amounts of food. Two people including 5 beers: 120 euro.

What to say more when more than everything has been excellent. A thank you for excellent service and fine japanese food. A wide choice of conventional and less conventional dishes. Beautifully made up dishes. A memorable experience of my sons birthday who "just wanted sushi". This was culinary education... Well done to everyone involved in running EN. Keep up the good work.

If you're looking for special culinary experience, this is a great place to visit.
I rated 4 instead of 5 because of two things; Use of bad quality disposable chopsticks, and stale salad.
