If you want a hotel with attentive staff, great location and a bit quirky then you won't go far wrong. Went for a canal view room and the canal view I guess is what you pay for. Tiny bathroom (shower, no bath) but fine for one night. Everything was clean and I loved the toiletries - Dead Clean range and you can buy from the hotel.

Many steep steps internally which I guess is normal for Amsterdam and not a problem for us.

I thought the canal area might be noisy but no, a really quiet area and hotel.

Great breakfast I thought, bread, cheeses, meats, good coffee.

I'm comparing with hotels in the U.K. where you get more bang for your buck but the canal view is what I wanted and what I got and I wasn't disappointed with that.

We recently stayed for 3 nights, having a top floor flat 406? Nice and warm, fantastic views over the canal. Perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. The bed was freshly made for us each day and towels changed.Fantastic pillows!! Breakfast was continental style with English breakfast tea/orange juice/coffee etc. The staff were lovely, introduced to a lady called 'puck' at the start and she couldn't have been more helpful. On check out we left our luggage there until sadly we had to leave Amsterdam at 2.30pm. We had no problems with noise apart from the planes flying in early in the am - which no one can help. A great place with lovely people and the same can be said for Amsterdam, lovely!

Just finished a 4 night stay and can't say how helpful every staff member was in making reservations, recommendations and advice. They sell various tram, train and bus tickets so no standing in lines or trying to figure out how to buy at stations. We've stayed at nicer hotels with larger rooms and more accommodations, but what makes this hotel a great value is the staff and the location. Our special thanks to Puck, Eimaye, and all the staff, and forgive us for misspelling and forgetting names. By the way, canal view rooms have great views but can be noisy with celebrators on the streets and canals outside. Our friends moved to an interior room that was larger, cuter, and quieter, and less expensive, and as could be expected, the staff was very helpful in getting them moved.

We stayed for 3 night and this was not long enough.

The staff go all out to please. The rooms are comfortable. The shower was huge and the complementary shower gel and shampoo were high quality.

There is always something to do at this hotel from music to canal trips.

The breakfast is self service and is continental style.

Looking forward to the next trip.

One point to note is that is is in 3 canal houses and some rooms require you to navigate some very narrow steps. So have a word first if this us going yo be a problem as the staff are very accommodating.

Located in the most charming neighborhood (Jordaan), the staff at this hotel are genuinely focused on making your stay enjoyable. We arrived in the early morning and they invited us to help ourselves to the buffet breakfast (eggs, meats, cheeses, etc.) and stored our luggage for us. Our canal view room was exactly as pictured, small but well designed with nice quality sheets. Order the hot chocolate from the bar - excellent! Definitely would stay here again.

Room Tip: choose a room with a canal view - worth it
