We got in quite late after our flight so the kitchen was already closed but we did get to try some tapas and they were both delicious, especially the falafel.

The service was quick and friendly, there was a good mix of tourists and locals and while it's close to the centre you are away from the madness around Dam Square.

We also tried their breakfast and the granola topped with orange jam was amazing.

Definitely go here if you want a less crazy experience than the more touristy spots.

Discovered while searching for another restaurant. We started with cocktails (much needed after a long journey), excellent! Their menu is a variety of tapas (appetizer portions). Our friends weren't familiar with this, so I ordered up a variety of items to sample. Every dish was amazing!

When our server asked if everything was 'OK'; I replied, 'No, everything is not OK...everything is WOW!!!'

We all agreed, from start to finish...this was the best meal of our trip!!

you simply can't go wrong at the cafe Toussaint. The food is great, drinks are delightful, neighborhood atmosphere, this restaurant and the restaurant across the street, de Italiaan are owned by the same people...both are some of the city's finest atmospheres. Be patient. Great food and drinks take time. Relax. be nice to everybody. This is my local.

I found this place good enough to visit twice in two nights, perhaps a small lack of adventure and imagination on my part but also a nod to the excellent food, atmosphere and good value available. The dinner menu has an excellent range of dishes, well cooked and presented. The seafood was amazing, especially the gambas, the flat bread with cheese and vegetables perfect for soaking up the juices from other dishes, but also a treat alone, so many good dishes. The excellent mains are well supported by decent sweet dishes, good coffee and brandy. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and overall the experience is very relaxed and not at all rushed. Would definitely recommend.
