Mr Crab seafood grill caught our eye when walking past the door on our way to our hotel. It looked clean and there was a good range of seafood dishes on offer. The waiter was happy to show us the menu and when we told him of my husband's allergies, he said that there wouldn't be a problem. My husband very kindly agreed to forgo his usual steak and so we booked a table for about 5pm on the following Saturday night. Very glad we did as when we arrived, the restaurant was very busy. The chef was good enough to come out and discuss how plain my husband wanted his fish cooked and I ordered lobster soup, followed by a tuna salad. The soup came quickly and was very tasty- been a while since I have had a lobster soup that good. Our mains, however, did take a while- in fact 35 minutes due, we were told, to a mix up in the kitchen. Our waiter Levi, a polite, professional and personable young man, was very apologetic and offered to take the price of our drinks off the bill. He had previously spoken to us when we had come in the day before and seemed genuinely concerned about our wait. However, my husband was very happy, the fish was cooked exactly how he had asked and I really enjoyed my tuna salad; again the tuna was cooked perfectly. We were very impressed with the way our meals were presented and, looking around, the meals of other diners too. We didn't have dessert and to be honest, didn't really look as our mains had filled us up. If we had been staying longer in Amsterdam, we would have definitely returned.
