We enjoyed our last meal
In Amsterdam in this small restaurant in the Jordaan. It was recommended to us by friends who had just dined here the previous week. We started with the vitello tonnato, really bistecca tonnato. Beautifully thin slices of beef with a delicious tuna sauce to add as you wish. Excellent. Next we had their Lasagnetta-an inventive riff on lasagne that was a beautiful tower of layered pasta, ragù, and a version of besciamella, plus a kiss of demiglace on the plate. A terrific combination of textures and flavors - bravo! For dolci we had their "not a tiramisu". Perfect ending for a memorable meal. The two waiters added to our evening, both helpful, charming, and moving with speed and grace to keep up with the hungry diners. We will return if we're back in Amsterdam.
