I really enjoyed a real Italian (also explained in Italian) pasta workshop. We got a lot of information and tips during the 4 hours of see, do and eat. We are now able to make homemade ravioli in different shapes to impress family. Sauces were made by the chef and really good. They closed their restaurant for the six of us. Would definitely go there again!

I had my wedding lunch in this restaurant and I was super satisfied! Food is excellent and expresses the real Italian taste. Pasta is fresh and handmade, and you can try it with special ingredients from Italy. The chef and all the staff is friendly and can suggest you the best dishes according with your preferences. Also wine is very good and desserts are delicious. Most of all you can find here the famous cannolo siciliano and cassata siciliana. This is absolutely one of the best restaurant in Amsterdam!

The restaurant Le 2 Sicilie is a real pearl in the Amsterdam's Horeca scenario. The owners manage the restaurant by themselves and that is already a guarantee for quality. The ingredients are super fresh and most of them are imported directly from Italy. But that's not all: the chef is a Mastro Pastaio (Fresh-pasta master). Do not expect a sophisticated place. Forget Jamie, forget starred stars: here you are in Italy, eating real Italian food made by Italian people in the best Italian traditional way. Antipasti were special, Sarde a beccafico is a traditional Sicilian dish, it takes the name from a bird. But yesterday I was lucky as I could try a special dish, Culurgiones, made one by one by the Mastro Pastaio. It is a traditional filled pasta from Sardinia, made here as a Sicilian variant by the professional pasta-maker. They called "cassatedda salata". Delicious! He wanted me to try also the Sicilian pesto (from Trapani) and it was an explosion of taste. If you like to retrieve the original feeling of a good Trattoria in Sicily, this is your place. And that's not enough. As you know in Italy there is Primo (normally pasta) and Secondo (a kind of main course). My Secondo was Gamberoni gratinati al Pecorino. Now that's prawns with pecorino cheese top. I was skeptical. And I was wrong. The combination is working very well. They know what they are doing. So I decided to try also the dessert. And that's the point where you are going to surrender: a Cannolo Siciliano made by these guys is not what you can find in the shops. It was filled by the chef in front of me with the best ricotta-made sweet, creamy filling. That's special, cannot find the words to explain better. The Cassata is also very good! Although I don't like candied fruit, I wanted to try that as well. It was a good idea, as it rocks! Add on top of this an original espresso coffee from Napoli (beans from a small producer that cares about quality) and you get the perfect dinner. The suggestion of the owner for the wines was also accurate and he did a good "abbinamento" (pairing). I had a very good Fiano del Salento, and later a Greco di Tufo. Both perfect pairing. Oh and did I mention the very comfortable chairs? That's sometimes underestimated, but actually it makes the whole experience complete and enjoyable. I strongly recommend this restaurant to Italian food lovers. And to the others too!
