Description: Theatre of fish! The opening of a unique fish concept with great fish of exceptional quality in a theatrical experience. It's a warm, cosy and trendy atmosphere where guests participate in the concept of creating their own meal and picking it up only minutes later at the open kitchen. Guests are able to choose their type of fish at the marketplace where the catch of the day is displayed. The fish are offered at surprising prices that vary based on supply and demand. At the market guests can order tasty side dishes to go with their meal. At the bar you can fill your own bucket with ice cold beers or great wines in order to experience the perfect combination of flavours. One of a kind, a new experience, Pesca is taking fish back to the basics. This is the mission of Pesca. Great Fish. Guests Love. Pesca, Theatre of fish.

What an evening.
First I will describe the concept of the restaurant. You arrive to be greeted by staff in front of a fish counter containing extremely high quality fish on ice. You then select the fish that your party would like and you are told how it will be cooked. The prices are on a market board and sold by weight. You are told that the food will not arrive at the same time and that sharing is expected!

We chose some calamari to be served first followed by Swordfish, Monkfish, and Sea Bass accompanied by a green salad and fries.

You are then guided to the drinks area where a sommelier helps choose your wine. We chose Grunër Weltliner which was a great choice.

You then take your drinks to your table in a personal ice bucket. You are given a pager which bleeps red when some of your food is ready and you collect it from the pass. Bingo

Our calamari arrived and was beautifully cooked. 20 mins later the swordfish and monkfish arrived with the green salad and was divine. After a further 30 mins the bass arrived with the fries. This was the absolute highlight of the evening.

We could have had desserts and coffee but we were full.

This is a fantastic fish restaurant but if you want to all eat a different dish at the same time forget it. We sampled all of the dishes and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will return.

The other reason for this review is to explain how the restaurant works in advanced so you are comfortable in the environment. The staff are fantastic.

Came here to celebrate a birthday, could not have chosen a better place! From the beginning, we were welcomed with a flute of bubbly, all very nice and cordial. Then, the fishmonger was great, very knowledgeable, funny, and friendly - even checked up on us during the meal and at the end! The sommelier was nice, and gave us good advice on what to choose (also based on our price range). The food was AMAZING (go for the SOFT SHELL CRAB omg-- and the seabass!! just olive oil and salt, it was heavenly).
It was one of the nicest experiences of eating out in Amsterdam, highly recommended (and we've been living here for a year). With mostly seafood (and some fish) we had a full meal with a bottle of wine and a (big) shot of limoncello, all for 50 euros each. All in all it's definitely worth it if you want to enjoy the food experience and 'the theatre of fish,' plus some very nice wine. 5 stars, and thank you very much.

This restaurant offers a unique experience from typical dinning experiences. You enter, cue, and then select the seafood and fish you would like to eat. You pay based upon weight. The fish-mongers are knowledgeable and will tell you how things will be prepared. Most preparations are simple, which demonstrate a respect for the product. They have a decent wine and beer selection, which you chose with the help of staff members.

Beware that dishes do not come out together or in any particular order. So the idea is you order things your group would enjoy and then share the dishes as they arrive.

A very unusual and enjoyable experience.
