Interesting museum, that's also a military pensioners home. Do eat the Indonesian restaurant "Kumpulan" for probably one of the best rice-tables in the Netherlands.

This Bronbeek is functioning as elderly house for old soldiers who served KNIL (Royal Netherlands Indonesian Army). Several ex-soldiers still living here. The museum gives a good overview of the period of KNIL in Indonesia with lot of attributes used in that period. The park around is well maintained and located in a very nice area of Arnhem, not far from city center. The adjacent restaurant is serving food and also used for seminars, parties and reunions.

Go see the oldtime warrior from colonial army wearing their beautiful unifiorms....but hurry.....only few veterans left. Very impressive brass canons and artefacts from former Dutch Indonesia including large butterfly collection on clipboards.
Afterwards take a walk to the park and its famous Indonesian style restaurant for a good meal of nasi goreng or nasi rames etc.

Visited the museum as part of a birthday party at the adjacent restaurant. Interesting history of Indonesia and Dutch colonialism. The museum is well presented and tells the story well in Dutch and English. The grounds and restaurant are also good. I learnt a lot from the visit which having worked in Jakarta a few times filled in the gaps in my knowledge of how Indonesia was formed.
