We stayed here for 3 nights. Room was big with great modern bathroom with bath and separate rainshower. Food in bar and restaurant very good.Loved the modern furniture. Very friendly reception. Assen town is on 5-10 minutes drive, TT circuit on 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not close to the highway

Typical Van der Valk hotel just on the edge of Assen. You definitely need a room on the “bos” side of the hotel (even numbered rooms) where you look over the woods and do not hear the motorway. Nice clean rooms. Good comfortable beds but the pillows were not very good. Nice bathroom with good facilities. The staff are friendly (as for all VdV hotels). Food in the restaurant was o.k. without being exceptional. The bar was a bit cluttered and the chairs really uncomfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with a really friendly chef checking that everything was o.k. Great eggs. Just on the outskirts of the town of Assen

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the woods (Bos) are lovely and VERY quiet.

Hotel was outstanding, very good reception staff, stunning room and bathroom and the food in the restaurant was superb and at a great price for the quality. Breakfast that was extra was also excellent.
My only complaint.... I left somethings in the room when I checked out and e mailed the hotel the very next day, but not even a response to say nothing handed in which was disappointing. Regardless of that, would definitely stay again

In general Van der Valk hotels are the perfect solution for a nice sleeping room and a good dinner, but Assen Hotel is, according to me, at the highest possible level.
New rooms, big beds, big bathrooms and high level restaurant.
You cannot find anything better through all Benelux at these prices.
Strongly recommended

Easy to find by car.
Very professional English speaking reception staff.
Hotel room was incredibly spacious. King size bed was nice and firm and with separate top matresses and duvet covers, mad for a very peaceful nights sleep.
Large bathroom with separate shower and bath tub. Shower was quite high up as was the hand sink and also far back. If you are short like me you may find washing your face a bit of a splashy mess!
Restaurant staff friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant full with locals and guests and makes for a really nice setting for a large gathering or intimate meal for 2.
Menu good, presentation excellent but if you had dietary needs it was a little limited. Quite pricey.
Would return.
