MARIE Visited this waterfall last year had to climb over a wooden fence not very difficult , these is a Mass alter, a murder hole, a wishing well and a lovely waterfall so quite a peaceful just the sound of the water.

Its just a little glen and its got a wonderful atmosphere you could imagine this was a fairy glen i felt their gaze , great place to let your imagination go wild .

If life is getting you down go to this waterfall and sit and listen to the water cascading down the glen all your troubles will wash away and suddenly life is wonderful again.

Gortletteragh is a very quiet, peaceful place with a marked woodland walk and a small waterfall with viewing platform. It is very quiet there and you can see a mass rock where priests used to celebrate masses during Penal times.
But here is the strange thing. Despite the fact that there is a very nice little park where you can leave your car, it is totally chained off to prevent entry, though you can go in on foot. Despite the fact that there are numerous information boards detailing the things to see in the area, including the falls, and despite the fact that you can see the trails and display boards clearly only a few feet from the road, the gate is closed and marked with a big "Private Property - No Entrance" sign and the in smaller letters "Enter at you're own risk." I don't know what was going on at noon on a Saturday for the whole place to be shut off.
BUT... do not let it stop you. The falls are only about 100 footsteps from the road, you can hear them! The mass rock is even closer. SO a small wooden fence will not stop you from seeing it. And it is well worth it. I am giving it only 3 stars due to the strangeness of the these obstacles and to be honest, the falls are only tiny. But the woodland is really serene and peaceful.
