This review is based on a one night stay in a cosy room (standard category).

Location
Quiet, hillside location with a nice view over Zurich. The hotel can be reached by tram or local train (both stops are a 10-15 min walk away). 15 min from downtown Zurich by taxi/uber or hourly hotel shuttle bus (available only until 8 pm). If you plan to spend most of your time in the city center and require a convenient location, this hotel might not be the right choice.

Design
The hotel is plush and blends arabic influence, bling bling-chandelier-shiny ornaments, 70ies vibe and what I call "international luxury hotel design". Somehow it all comes together rather nicely to form a comfortable and cosy environment. All rooms and public areas are spacious and airy.

Facilities
The hotel features two restaurants (casual all-day option and formal michelin-starred one), a bar with lounge, various meeting rooms, spa, gym, steam room and sauna, as well as an indoor and outdoor pool.

Food & Beverage
Breakfast consists of an à la carte menu with standard options such as eggs benedict and a generous, good quality buffet. Highlights are the freshly squeezed juices and the cheese selection. Unfortunately, the quality of the cappuccino is disappointing.
The late evening food menu at the bar which is also the room service menu is fairly limited. The burger with french fries was of decent quality and the cheese platter was tasty and surprisingly generous. The bread was stale and barely edible.

Service
I received a warm welcome by the receptionist and hotel manager. A welcome drink was offered (choice of iced tea or prosecco). Check-in was conducted at the seating area. I was brought to the room with a detour showing the facilities of the hotel. The complimentary New Year's eve aperitif for all hotel guests as well as the small bottle of champagne and two glasses that were set up in the room during turndown service were a nice touch. Check-out was swift. Overall, the staff was friendly, attentive and professional throughout the property.

Room
Pros: Spacious and offering a lot of storage space; quiet, good insulation; complimentary minibar with unusual, local soft drinks and snacks; floor heating in bathroom; window can be opened; view of forest and parts of the city; lighting settings for every mood; tablet with a selection of international magazines and newspapers; bluetooth speaker; traditional turndown service.
Cons: No Iron and ironing board (only available upon request); no working desk (at least in the room I stayed in); rather odd room layout featuring a separate seating area without without view of the TV.

Summary
Well-designed urban retreat with personalized, attentive and proactive service. Definitely recommended if you don't mind staying outside of the city center.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the city.

We got a one night gift voucher from Range Rover for a romantic gateaway with my wife. This is an historical hotel recently renovated. It is pure luxury, rooms are modern. spacious, bright and tastefully furnished. Beautiful panoramic view of Zurich, easy access to center of Zurich with public transport. Very nice spa with heated pool. Amazing restaurants and bars!!! We will come again!

Room Tip: Ask for high floor room for nicer panoramic view of Zurich

I'm not sure there is a better spot to stay when visiting Zurich.

I was traveling with family and found this hotel through reviews and it exceeded my already lofty expectations. The staff is incredible and ensures everything you need is taken care of immediately. The GM himself was always happily meandering around taking care of guests and showing you around. One person in our party was not feeling well and they drove us to a nearby health care office and picked us up after the appointment.

Beautiful design, splendid rooms and a great buffet breakfast. Restaurants were good and the cigar smoking lounge was a plus. The rooms are very well appointed and very clean.

The location is great as you are far enough from city noise and congestion to enjoy a bit of scenic scenery while still being moments away from anything you want in Zurich. The distance is literally a non issue. Only thing I would add is breakfast on the room service menu.

Will be my primary stay the next time I am in Zurich as well.

Thank you for a warm welcome after our long flight from NYC. From the moment we arrived which was before noon, you made sure we were comfortable and relaxed. Our room happened to be ready which meant a luxiorous bath and cozy bed to nap from the flight. The free shuttle to the city let us enjoy the energy and lights to celebrate this special day. A delicious multi course meal was an exceptional way to end the night. For this we will always be thankful.
