I was having a concert finishing late in Frauenfeld and had to find a hotel near it. So I decided to take this one that one of the cheapest. It was a good surprise for me as I had a really nice apartment with bath and a kitchen. Everything was clean and the bed was really comfy.
Coming back from Greece the cheapest way for me to get back to the uk was to spend a day in Zürich. Looking at hotel prices which are high for Switzerland, I managed to find this apartment for £51 I couldn’t fault it , comfortable bed , decent sized room. The only thing I will say is it can be quite nosey due to the nearby train station but to get to the airport it’s only 5 mins from the nearby station.
Very spacious apartment near the train station! Perfect for group of people or family! No air conditioning, but wasn't necessary. Very clean and easy for us as we were just passing through one night. Grocery store nearby to stock the kitchen if necessary.
1) no reception. This should have been the first sign for me not to stay here, but the cheap price lured me in.
2) the entire building smelled of urine, curry and fried food.
3) this should have been #1. The noise!!!! There are trains passing by every 30 seconds. You literally can't sleep because the trains make such screeching loud sounds ALL DAY!
4) The rooms were somewhat clean, but there were dust bunnies under the bed. As if the cleaning people never cleaned underneath the beds before.
5) the shower faucet could not decide if to pour hot water or cold water. But both at the same time never occurred.
6) the other tenants in the building had screaming children, were loud at all times of the night, and cooked the most oddly smelling food at early hours of the morning.
7) There is no air conditioning and no fans. DONT STAY HERE DURING THE SUMMER! OR AT ALL FOR THAT MATTER. THE CHEAP PRICE IS NOT WORTH YOUR SANITY.
Although this apartment is not in the city centre, the location is excellent. It only takes us a minute to the closest tram stops. The room was clean but there was no air conditioner so it was quite hot in the summer. We didn't cook but the kitchen facilities seems perfect and new. It was super noisy when every time a train passed by... so that's the pros and cons when it's close to the transport.
