Lovey characterful brasserie in the centre of Lausanne. We ate there in the evening and the staff were fun and very attentive. The food was of a very high standard and in Lausanne where a 2nd mortgage is generally required to eat, this restaurant was very reasonably priced and the staff added a couple of extras for nothing - a great touch to round off a lovely evening. Can't recommend it enough!

In a city where decent food at decent prices is not easy to find, this place is definitely worth considering. The owner(?)/waitress was welcoming and efficient. The food was generously portioned, the salads norvégienne (smoked salmon and caper salad) I had was fresh, tasty and substantial. The restaurant feels quite cosy and feels like a place with local regulars

First time here but for sure not the last one!
We stopped on a Friday evening, just watching the menu outside, noticing "filets de perches"...moreover for 22CHF...when you pay anywhere over 30CHF, usually 34CHF for this meal in Lausanne.

And then what happened?
A warm, welcoming service, an added salad (not mentioned), good and well made "filets de perches" in a regular quantity with tartar sauce, and when bringing the coffee they added us a small and good tarte tatin for free...

All of these with smile, kindness, professionalism and for a total bill of less than 29CHF including a glass of white wine.
I will be back soon!

PS:
This is ~40% less than a pizza with salad, a glass of wine, a coffee and a dessert in a pizzeria in Ouchy... And even..
~50% less than the same "filets de perche" in the same Ouchy...

CONCLUSION:
In Lausanne, like other places, enjoy the lake and come back to the city center for a better and much cheaper meal!

We dine here often when in Lausanne. We love most things about this place, location, wait staff, offerings, quality, and value. It's a brasserie and therefore quite fun. At lunch time, four offerings are made. This time we had a Perch dinner and a dinner salad with deep fried tomme cheese on it. The perch came with fries and a salad. Both meals came with a dessert and everything was delicious. Service is always with a smile even though they are slammed over the noon meal time.

This is a small and traditional restaurant in the city centre of Lausanne. We came here for dinner during a conference visit.

I had a horse steak and my companions had Zurich-style sliced veal with Rösti (that is as typically Swiss as it gets, but really is from the German-speaking region). The veal apparently was very good, but my steak was rather small, more cooked than I had requested, and came with rather a lot of grease in the plate. The desserts, a cheese platter for me and ice cream with chocolate for my companions, were also good but nothing really special.

The wine list has a range of wines by the glass, by the 0.5 litre carafe or by the bottle. We had a regional red wine that was good.

It seemed it was a bit of a stressful evening for the staff of the restaurant, as the main chef was on holidays and a replacement chef was working the kitchen. Nevertheless, this dinner did not measure up to the ones we had had on the three preceding days.

Thank ThisChris
